Plettenberg Bay accident
This thread seems to have stopped rather abruptly----does anyone have any further news or details other than what to do if one experiences total power loss on this type?

Is there anything thus far to shew that the aircraft lost all power?I am very familiar with the surrounding terrain......I seem to recall that there was one cell call made,presumably by a passenger,that was cut off shortly before,or at the same time, that all comms with aircraft were lost.......the chart which was forwarded by someone did show the approach circuit to be over Seal Island and of course,immediately beyond Seal Island is the almost vertical face of Robberg, if an Airport heading is maintained.
I have come in rather late on this discussion,but will there be a CVR available and has the Hull been found?

The a/c and all the bodies have been found and recovered. I suspect that there was no FDR or CVR, but the FMS/GPS/MFD system might have some info in memory.
Speculation from those who had access to the radar track seems to be that the NDB break cloud procedure was never attempted, but that the a/c routed from Keurboomstrand NE to SW past the tip of Robberg where radar contact was lost (approx 5nm S of PY) as the a/c passed 500' AMSL on the descent during a right hand turn from SW to NW.
The airfield is at 600+', so the descent over the sea was to below the airfield elevation and obviously subsequently to sea level. GS when contact was lost was 152kts.

The one thing I have always detested immensely in South African Aviation community is the self-righteous "I can do no wrong, holier than thou" attitude that so many of you satisfy your egos with.

Section 3/Emergency Procedures/PC12 is not a single engined flight path profile. It's a crash drill, which is of course all that it could be.

There was an article in today`s Herald newspaper printed in Port Elizabeth,SA which gave the details and outcome of the investigation together with recommendations.
