Can confirm, the bar and kitchen area were not affected by the fire, the accomodation area is completely burned out! I was there when it happened and I must say that they were lucky nobody got hurt and the bar area is safe, the fire was fast and furious!!!

Hello everybody!

As many of you I prepare a trip in Namibia and Botswana to take a job..
I have 2000 hours of flight but I stopped flying during a while. Think you that a type rating on C 208 would be a big advantage?
Thank you for having read to me and of your answers.

Usually No, you are most likely to fly C210 or C206 initially, irrespective of your past experience. Guys who have worked in the company towards the C208 eventually get rated and get to fly it.

Somebody know a flight school in Botswana or Namibia with C206 or C210?
Thank you all

Unless you have a Botswana licence no chance to do the rating here in Bots! But if you have an EASA or FAA licence you don't need the rating!!! You must have a valid licence and a valid medical

Any bush pilots who have around 500+ PIC hours in Africa on light aircraft, EASA CPL/IR/ME, plus a good science degree and fancy taking up survey flying on a MEP elsewhere in Africa please send me a CV.

Please do not send a CV unless you meet the criteria!

I think if one compare the numbers there is more GA8 airvan's standing on western apron than 206's.

Go to Tanzania, your hours will help there, you got too many hours (crazy right lol) for the greenhorn jobs.

All information in a single website

Hello gents and ladies,

After been a while here on the forum, and having trouble to find information on Maun about certain topics (not because where not written, but because there's more than 50 pages of topics backing back to 2009!) , I put all the info on a single website so we can have all it together.

Most of the information has been taken from here, with comments from different people, so if anyone wants to modify anything please let me know and I will be more than happy to update/remove/add any of it!

I still adding content, so also any suggestions are appreciated!

'Cos plagiarism is always a good way to get ahead.

@ spaflyer, your list of company's aircraft is quite old! For example Moremi now has 1 C206 and 6 GA8 Airvan, no more 210 and PAC!

Hi all,

Does anyone have a link or a recommendation to some good and reasonably priced accommodation in Gabs?
