ab initio

haha. nice bruh.
Seriously though, I got info that KQ has a seriously big overdraft that it's using to pay employees. The 777s have been grounded as they are unprofitable to run under their lease terms; coupled with the fact that there's strong competition in the EA market.
Also, there's the small matter of the FAA's intervention with KAA to require airline pilots to have the standard mimimum requirements of 1500 hrs to fly an airliner.(which ab initios, obviously don't have initially) (which further fuels tensions between Direct Entrys and ab initios).
Btw , these were words from a 777 captain I talked to.
Again, I stress that I mean no ill. It's just prudent that pprunners know this, right?

Hi guys. To those who chased the S.A Embassy for a study visa, how long did the embassy take to issue the visas?
I was told 8 weeks and I know for sure a friend got his in 3 weeks but he was going for business studies.
I am not sure if applicants going for aviation related studies take longer to be issued a visa.
Some insight would be highly appreciated.

degree requirement.

I am currently in my final year and I finish my course work in april 2015 and graduate in dec 2015.

Is KQ rigid to refuse my application based on that?(though by the time they will begin the recruitment process ill be done with scholl just waiting to graduate)

I will appreciate your opinions or someone with concrete info regarding this

DOUBLE APPLICATION

Good evening comrades.

I need bit of your help and experience.

I applied for the programme last year, but did not do the last bit of the test. I believe that's the reason i was overlooked, in this years call up.

However, I realised that this year and completed the test.Even got the test automatic generated email.

My question is, should I send in another application in its entirety, or leave the current one (last years application) which still reads active

No more Ab Initio

I was talking to credible source a few days back. They are considering pausing the Ab Initio programme for a few years as the pilot numbers have now reached the requirement and has even surpassed what they need for the next 2 to 3 years.

So the last group of 20 might be the last group that left for South Africa recently will be the last group. Not to dampen hopes but maybe KQ may not be the place to put all your eggs for now.
