Timing

So for these who have attended psychometrics, does the process start at exactly 730 am or are there delays such as these encountered on the first day?

Toughness

Guys,

The tests are fine. However, timing is important. Very important. The math sequence part was the toughest section for me so far. Hope I passed.

My Psychometric Analysis

I went in for the 7:30 test. Deciding to split us into groups was a good idea because we were much more organised and the schedule flowed much better than the aptitude test day.

The email was correct in advising us not to study for the test because what I had revised, even the sample Morrisby Profile test online proved to be of little to no help. The test was demanding, rather than hard, if that makes any sense. I found it to be a paper that one can easily score 100% should they be allocated the right amount of time, but that would beat its purpose.

I was only able to complete all the questions in the Mechanical Reasoning segment. I managed to get past half way and almost finish some of the sections. Unfortunately I'm not as confident as I was after the aptitude test at DEFTEC, but I'm still staying optimistic.

All the best, future aviators!

Psychometric

Waa. Also did the psychometric today, 7. 30 group. The test is really meant to push us to the limits.

The time was too short for all the sections but as the Career lady put it, no one can finish these tests within the allocated time.

In my view, natural inelligence coupled with speed & accuracy is key here.

Well, we were informed that psychomotor is on 4th & 7th March. As @nickmorry puts it, pray.

The sections are as outlined by @rookAviator.
All the best to those done with psychometric & those going next week.

@Gedion, the group that applied last year between March and December is the one that is currently undergoing the psychometric tests. It took us almost a year to be called in for the first test

Thumbs up PSYCHOMOTOR

I have gone through this thread and I have also done some research. Here are some sites that offer something similar to what we shall be tested on. Unfortunately they are charging a fee and you also need a joystick.

AAT | AirlineAptitudeTests.com - Pilot Assessment Software

PAT | PilotAptitudeTest.com - Practise for COMPASS Tests and PILAPT Tests

Another thing, FEAR should not be an option if you want to ace this test. I have discovered its what kills many people in this stage, therefore, even if you've never seen a joystick, please stay calm and try to give it your best shot.

All the best guys.

Don't worry buddy this is just but the beginning of your future, don't let a simple regret letter dampen your resolve to fly! I got one too but life has to move on.
You will fly one day, you have a degree make use of it.
All the best in your future endeavours.

Life Goes on

Just realised how much hope I had banked on the KQ AB Initio process, to a point that I had neglected some parts of my daily life. The Morrisby Profile thing educated me, that no matter how clever I think I am, no matter how learned I think I am, split second decisions occur almost daily in my life. The aptitudes and the Psychometrics were a worthy lesson for me, if I progress to the Psychomotor phase, well and good and thanks to the Almighty. If I do not, I do not carry any regrets with me, and I have nobody to blame, and many thanks to the Almighty.

For now back to my normal money making routine. I wish us well, aspiring aviators.
