Thumbs up

Thanks a lot for your time and opinion. I just want to know the best places because I'm going to look for further information regarding those countries in their embassies. I already knew about the hiring process you're telling me, but I've made my decision to leave my country and try finding a job wherever it's needed. I'll check the forums to look for more information and again thank you so much.

Regards,

Eoni.

fATPL

A PPL may now skip the CPL exam process and write 9 ATPL subjects instead, granting him an fATPL and Commercial licence when he/she has passed the Com flight test.

HPerformance, Met, Nav x2, Instruments, Radios, Ops, Air Law, Flt Planning as far as I know.

Not the best idea - skipping the fundamental and important CPL subjects and info.

Back to jobs: seems like a swear word lately....

Looking for African contract work...

Howzit guys,

I suppose I'm just another guy looking for work these days... remaining positive though!

Credentials are JAA fATPL ME IR & SA CPL ME IR.
550 TT
410 PIC
500 SEP
50 MEP

Most of my experience is on a C206 (230 Hours). Wouldn't mind a 2 month on 1 month off scenario. Willing and able to relocate. Available immediately. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Work in Africa

Hi Guys and Girls

I have always wanted to fly in Africa..bush, safari flying, medivac, charter, sight-seeing. Having been recently made redundant I am thinking that now may be the ideal opportunity to make the leap! I have done some research and sent off a few CVs but I was wondering whether any guys who are already there might be able to point me in the right direction. After all, you get to hear of any vacancies first and im guessing that they dont get advertised! I have a JAR ATPL and 2400hours of which 1200 are multi engine piston and 800 ME turbine. Im also a ME/IR instructor. So im not a newbie and im not looking for hours! Please PM me if you know of anyone looking for someone of my experience or indeed any advice or tips would be welcome. I am available immediately and will fly anything with wings!

Appreciate it guys

With that kind of experience I strongly recommend you look into tanzania and kenya. I heard in kenya they are desperate for experienced pilots. They pay a decent salary as well.

"desperate for experienced pilots in Kenya?"

Where and on what types of aircraft? With which nationality?

Hi!

The jobs I know of in NBO are 737 (Kenya Airways...sounds like will be hiring foreigners soon), MD-8X, DC-9, Dash 8, F-27, Caravan, and piston twins. Wilson Airport in Nairobi is the place for most of the smaller aircraft operators. The larger ones are at Jomo Kenyatta. Besides KA there is Africa Express, East African Safari Air Express at Jomo.

Jobs in NBO

Thanks for the info. Was told KCAA very reluctant to issue letter of no objection for non Kenyan pilots, even experienced and despite no results locally after prior compulsory press advertisement for a specific job. Any suggestion about that? Thanks and all the best.

Hi!

I think THE best airport for low-timers is Arusha (not sure). Dar has the most stuff...check Coastal Aviation in Dar. They have a LOT of Caravans, and will start you in the -172 if they need to.
