Landing short can ruin your day...
Gmunden Laarkirchen Airport on Friday...
Looking at the video it appears they lost control when he touched down short of the hard runway. It appears to hit the lip of the hard runway which takes off a wheel.

Yes, that does look like an undershoot. The approach appears to have been flown with precision, suggesting that an early touchdown was intended. Google Earth tells me that runway is 2000 feet long, so I can imagine a pilot focusing on preventing landing long. And, there appears to be quite an upslope to the end of 08 where the crash occurred. I've seen AN-2 operations into a shorter runway with no apparent difficulty, so it seems reasonable that the pilot planned to land there, it just didn't work out this time...
What a shame that is a lovely old example of the type there...

NB: The website of the airfield gives a landing distance of 550m for runway 08 which is plenty for that kind of aeroplane. No need at all to land before the piano keys.
NNB: The approach chart (this link is from the airfield website: http://www.fliegerclub-traunsee.at/w...u-Jeppesen.pdf) explicitely warns of "In front of both RWYs marked steep slopes".

I’ve got the same type and model but with 5.0 loader for more lift than the 3.0 version in those pics

the first sentence anyway
we now have CFOT - a normal landing with an outcome the pilot had not intended or expected

Not so normal landing imo. approach was flown a little too shallow angle. I witnessed another accident like that (Spanish AF Casa) with about identical path and result hitting short of runway uphill enbankment, damaging gear and other exitment as a result. That is not how to make a short precision landing.
