PPJN says 36000 Euro+ 60 per leg min 400 legs - but that is only after confirmed on line (after 6 months on line I think). And having already paid 15000 euros and the rest towards type rating etc.
Appalling is all I can say.
But you do get a crew meal on the days you work. That must make all the difference.

This WAS very good money in the former existence of countries like Romania etc, but of course now it is cr@p, albeit more than most earn.
My significant other's brother is a Prof in a university in Bucuresti, he earns about 350€ a month. A nice appartment is about 1000€ a month AFAIK, so we are in the same sh1t as everyone else . . . nearly.
In my current home country the average wage for someone in a normal job is around 900€, a two bedroomed apartment cost 500-600€ a month to rent. Supermarket prices are higher than in neighbouring France, crap schools, crap health care, pay to use the Autovia, well, the sun shines at least.
Can't help thinking that our life in Europe now, isn't just a trial to acclimatise us to the cr@p we will live when we are finally taken over by the Chinese.
Cynical ? Moi ? You bet

6 on 4 off or 6-1-6-7 - your choice. Commuting is straightforward and office are helpful with accomodating this.

Almost always return to base - Katowice is the only exception as far as I know.

Pretty much yes - a flexible approach is always helpful and again, it depends on base.

Sorry no - can't tell you anything concrete - best of luck if you've applied though.

The same risk you took in the beginning if you were not one of the fortunate few trained and nurtured by a legacy airline/military force and had to pay for your own licence.
No risk = no progress in this current stagnant market.
I don't agree with it, or indeed like it, but I sure as hell can understand anyone going for it.

Without knowing particular for WizzAir, I would say the answer is a resounding NO.

You do not have the right to fly commercially in the EU without a JAA license. It may be possible to get a validation for 1 year, but why in the world would WizzAir want to hire someone with a temporary validation, when there are a boatload of qualified pilots looking for work.

You want to work for WizzAir then you have to sit the JAA exams, depending on your experience.

Hi folks

It looks like people are quoting my earlier post and applying those quotes to matters that I wasn't referring to.

We do benefit if an operator soaks up some of the surplus unemployed pilots who are willing to work in central and eastern Europe.

I don't know anything about the 1400 euros per month payment. If that is correct then it does sound very low. Someone else mentioned a package worth 60,000 euros which does not sound appalling even if it is not brilliant. If you can earn 60,000 euros and not have to part with cash for a type-rating then surely that is not bad. I appreciate that it may not be a good rate for a highly experienced pilot with many hours on type already but there don't appear to be any hard facts supporting exactly what is on offer at the moment.

In other professions, including accountancy, people are having to accept pay reductions right now. It is not just happening in aviation. It is a terrible time all round. The world is constantly changing in terms of economics.

The cockpit4u offer whereby you pay 21,600 euros (or thereabouts) seems pointless as Wizzair's own offer does not require the pilot to part with cash. There is a bond of 15,000 euros.

I don't support deterioration of pilot terms and conditions but I still think we don't have the full facts to hand just yet. I do know that Wizzair don't require the pilot to part with their own cash. Wizzair wanted to avoid the costs of using agencies....that is how it would appear and that does make good business sense.

Ultimately this is all conjecture until we know exactly what is offered.

Mr pilot,

You do need to pay 15000 Euros for the type rating with Wizz air.

Your monthly salary is reduced by 1000 Euros for the first 15 months after you have passed the line check. This is why a co pilot caches net 1400 Euros per month in Wizz Poland during 15 months, however before the line check you have been making peanuts as well due to the training salary.

A Wizz co pilot here in Poland, with no remaining bond to pay, takes home in Polish Zloty on average a month, everything included, between 8000-10000 Zloty. (depending if you're junior or senior co pilot, how many sectors flown etc)

On top of this, what you're saying Mr pilot, yes you need to sign a type rating bond of 15000 Euros over a three year period.

Yeah basically what ATR said in the post above means, you pay 15K for the endo, deducted through your salary for the first 15months and ALSO, your bonded for the other 15K for the next 3 yrs... its one hell of a deal

Sorry guys...

but I suppose that this training costs does not apply to Type Rated guys like me, that are currently flying no??

i don't mind being bonded, but I would not like to be charged for a training I've made already... i'm TR with 900h on type, currently employed 1200 total and CATII/III certified... why should I pay anything... If I can start flying tomorrow if they want.
