Euh...getting confused! 
F-COM says FQI for the A320.
1) So it is the FCMC for the 330/340 and the FQI for A320 and FQIS for Boeing?
2) But for Airbus, FCMC = FQI, you confirm?

FQI - Fuel Quantity Indication is a part of the FQIS - systemBoeing
FQI and FCMC form parts of Fuel Control Monitoring System (FCMS) Airbus
Plus there are many other components/computers in both systems.

Hmmm... I just want for Airbus.
Ok so does the FQI send a signal to FCMC and it then controls the refuel valve?
Does the FCMC control something else than the refuel valave?

What you need to remember is the A330/340 shuffle fuel about in flight for optimum CofG and wing bending relief so the FCMC is more than just a FQIS.
The Boeing (777) for example, does not do this. No stab/fin tank or outboard fuel cells.

Good point of course, but the young fellow asked about AB. (Given some of the youngster's prior questions, he probably got the Boeing basics already nailed. While chain yanking is always possible, this fellow seems to understand his systems and is simply filling a few gaps in his knowledge. In some cases it is as simple and spelling out some of the acronyms at least once. (Yes, they often drive seniors nuts as well! Beyond the airline industry, the worst acronym offenders are government in general and military in specific. I once had a military boss who hated them. he had a HUGE, [2" x 4"] rubber stamp [red] reading, "UNA." Any fool staffer who did not quickly learn that "UNA" represented "Use No Acronyms," did not stay with us for long.) This kid is learning his systems.

Airbus differ from type to type, 320, which I know nothing about, differs to the 330/340, and I would presume the A380 is different again, the 350 certainly will be.
So to say 'Airbus' alone is not specific enough, if AF330 wants to know about a certain type then he needs to specify, we are here to help.

Yes, you all are right!
I basically learnt it with a very nice man working on AF's 777! In this way, I learnt on the A320:
- FADEC (ECU, HMU, VSV, LPTCC...)
- PACKS, what is inside it, the RAM AIR....
- VENT (outflow valves, avionics, AEVC....)
-fuel tanks (refuel valves, refuel/defuel line, Engine feed...)
-And now the courant for the valves- and who is controlling them!
Still some doubts! Thanks a lot for your help! Will ask you if there is something else that is confusing me!

Airbus has what they call a Pyramidal computers structures and on top of this, the boss, is FMGS.
Should the crew select fuel weight in the FMCS for flight planning purpose, BEFORE refueling is finished and this quantity is less than the "Selected" refuel load, FMGS send a command to FMCS to stop the refuel when this "fuel weight" is reached, and you will have no direct informarion, just the fail light on refuel panel blinking.
To correct it, out of memory, you have to clear /no zeroed/ fuel weight in FMGS and do a cockpit FMGS reset.
