Indian Class-i Medical
Dear All
Could someone please guide me about class-1 medical in India. Is any possibility to go directly for Indian class-1 medical on basis of foreign medical current, instead of going via class-2 than class-1
Appreciate your help.

Yes, you can. Provided you've got a current foreign class 1 medical, a valid pilot license and a file number.
All you need is to obtain an NOC from the DGCA medical wing. For that you've to write to the DMS with a copy of your licenses.
Don't forget to add a PMR forwarding form with the date of medical at the required medical center.
The NOC process usually takes around a week. You've to collect it personally from the DGCA office located at Safdarjung. Also make sure that they've forwarded your PMR.
The address for the DMS is:
The DMS (Civil Aviation)
DGCA Technical Wing
Opp Safdarjung Apt.
New Delhi
Hope this helps.

class 1 medical in india follows air force standards of health and are conducted at few air force hospitals though some private hospitals are also allowed now to conduct these tests...the tests can easily last for two days, many tests like ECG,EEG are part of the medical which is not included in the F.A.A medical....the doctors are quite strict and dont hesitate to fail you even if there is a small shortcoming....i believe you can give directly class 1 med if you hold a foreign license and current medical...though im not sure of it......and yeah getting a class 1 med appointment is nt easy ,you need to contact the center atlest 2 months before your planned medical....if you need the list of centers conducting class 1 med look up at dgca website....

If you ever did a class-2 medical with a DGCA approved doc.
Then DGCA would've sent you a small piece of paper with a file number and your date of medical on it. You can also get it from the doc who did it for you.
It could even take more than 3 months if you're planning to do your Cl-1 from any of the Air Force Medical centers. But if you go to private one's like Nannavathi,BOM Max,DEL or Apollo,MAA you could get a faster date.

Go do your CL-2 med as soon as possible. There are a lot of doc's all over the country doing it. Here's the list:
CLASS II MEDICAL EXAMINERS LIST
Takes around a month to get your file number after this.
Then only you can apply for a CL-1

Well a Wierd question but id sure like to ask.
I recently got my Class 1 Assessment after 7 mnths of my Medical lol., well in the past 2 assessments including the latest one, they have been misprinting my Height as 171cms which in reality is 181cms.,
I even told the guy while i was doing my last medical that there is an error and you please check it again and write the correct height, he measured my height and wrote it.
But yet again an assessment with the wrong height!
What do i do to solve this?? Should i even think of fixing it or just let it be?

DO NOT GO TO AFCME
Why are you going to AFCME??? You need to go to AFCME only for your th or 7th medical depending if you are below or above 40, or when you reach age 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60 etc......
DO NOT GO TO AFCME unless you absolutely HAVE to......
Here's my one piece of advise for anyone who is not familiar with Indian AFCME & DGCA......
If you have any kind of medical condition, DO NOT GO TO AFCME OR ANY MEDICAL CENTER for the matter......
If you don't go for renewal medical, your medical will lapse & you will be grounded, you can't fly......
If you are flying for any company, it will be an issue.......
If you GO for your renewal medical and you have any medical condition, then you wll be grounded...... It will be a much bigger issue then......
YOU WILL BE GROUNDED NO MATTER WHAT.........
Only difference is that it will come in your medical file FOREVER.....
Read below about a guy who was trying to get the Height corrected in the file...... Think what you will do when your medical condition & abnormal levels come in your file......
If you miss your medical, you can still do a RENEWAL medical upto six or 12 months from the original due date, you will just have to get a NOC from medical section at DGCA. It is not that hard to get the NOC, just make any excuse, you were not in India or family issues, viral or flu etc etc whatever.....
Best thing to do, consult a good aviation medical specialist, who knows what are the acceptable levels as per Indian CAR/ DGCA guidelines.....
In general, here is a practice that we used to follow:
Always get a renewal medical date approx 1 month before your medical is due. Then, always get all the profiles & blood tests done approx 1 month before you go for medical.....
That way, you have time (approx 2 months) to fix things via exercise or medicines if anythng is wrong & you will never get grounded....

If anything is out of ordinary, if they (read AFCME or IAM ) suspect anything, then ANYTHING & everything is fair game.
This forum is not the right place to ask such serious questions like which blood tests to expect...
First of all , No one is a doctor here & even most of the regular doctors don't even know what is acceptable in Civil Aviation.
Like I said, Find & consult a doctor who specialises in Aviation Medicine........
Saving a few hundred or a couple of thousand may cost you a lot more.....
