I have no idea why we still debate BA's lack of customer service, we all know that the airline has zero interest in its customers which is why all its loyal customers have buggered off (me included)...

If you email the CAA they wouldn't be able to argue the case further down the line as you would have their response in writing. With a phone call they could always change the goalposts.
