Sydney Harbour from NSW Police Airwing helicopter

Apologies for the quality of the photograph.
It was taken with my iPhone on an overcast morning.

Colorado 480B flight of two

A fun flight of two Enstrom 480Bs from Erie (KEIK) to the foothills west of Longmont, CO.

Thanks VF. Tail rotor authority is actually one of Enstrom's strong points. Airflow around the TR is unobstructed and it is really difficult to run out of pedal. I've done pedal turns in >40kts without hitting the stops. An Enstrom flight test engineer told me they've flown them sideways in excess of 70kts.

From the 480B RFM - "There is no wind azimuth, relative to the nose, that is critical to directional control of the aircraft. Sideways/rearward flight permitted at 35kts up to 8000ft."

Angel

thanks for the update CO280fx very impressive indeed sounds better than the 350's TR authority, which only get's spongy & starts hitting the bump stop on landings & take-off's above 22,000'

Hey Chopper2004, the 189 is impressive(I've watched a ton of vids),

But as a dual ATP I keep looking at the 609 in the background!.I start with an offshore company in 8 weeks but one day would love pole tilt rotor offshore

Great pics
