Air Baltic

Hi ,

I see that some of the people who posted some messages in this forum have done the selection for airbaltic.
I have an invitation to come to Riga. But I still have some questions. I hope some of you guys can help me out!

- Which subject can I expect during the ATPL test en the technical interview?
- On what type of Sim (737 or other A/C) is the SIM test?( I do not have a type rating, only MCC on a 737)
- What can I expect during the HR interview?

I hope someone can help me with these questions.

Thanks!!!

One friend of mine recommended this one
Islande Hotel in Riga, Latvia
Is not to much expensive, with suttle to the airport every 30 minutos for around 5 euros...

They are not recruiting CPT for the 737

I heard that the f/o must sing a bond....

The contract I have read mention you can start as FO or Captain...

They bond you about 15,000 USD for conversion, familiarization and Line training course. Quite expensive, but pretty standard nowadays.

Hey there,

It means in proportion, as in there's no mention of what proportion of your salary will be taken off you per month to pay back the bond. I assume they'll take it back over a period of years and leave you enough to live off

If you stay for the agreed bond period, you will not have to pay anything.(No salary deductions)

Prorata

Bond :15,000 USD.
Contract 5 years.
If you leave at the end of the first year, you have to pay the 4 remaining years 15,000 / 5 years = 3,000 * 4 years = 12,000 USD to pay.
If you leave at the end of the fourth year, you have to pay the 1 remaining year 15,000 / 5 years = 3,000.
Since there is no mention, I wonder if you will have to pay the entire sum (15,000 USD) as it is done in some countries (where the common rule is to take advantage of people).
It is definitely a question to raise.

Now, I paid 9000 USD (including accommodation and transport) for my first type rating in the US in 2004. It seems to me that 15,000 is a bit expensive, but that includes the line training...
It is much more expensive when it concern a conversion course (meaning the joining pilot is already rated...), therefore just a "transformation" to the company standards.
It is definitely a way to lock people in the company.
