It would surprise me a lot if Air Baltic won´t increase their presence in Vilnius. In these days, or any other day, you can´t ignore an opportunity such as this!

Remember, the state of Lithuania, thanks to FlyLAL, has a case in the the ESA against BT and RIX international airport. Someone had their toes severely stepped on.

Up until this day BT has cut back on operations, crew and administrative personnel in VNO. They're leaving or want to give someone the impression they are.

Anybody knows, who operates ATR 42's from RIX to TLL? Yesterday I saw 2 white ATRs in TLL and both were BT flights. Or are those planes bought?

Those ATRs are from DOT i believe. They are wetleased , or semi wetleased , since the cabincrew is from airBaltic.

It seems like everything is slowing down. Period. At BT's homepage they have removed the "termless" pilot application notice.

So... what's next? Some say head for Africa, but in the Maun thread a chap said that even there, the crisis affects the market. Time to get a FI certificate, perhaps?

Just to enlighten your aviation knowledge, DOT is providing AB with a damp lease.

A wet-lease is a/c and crew (flight and cabin)
A damp-lease is a/c and crew (flight only)
A dry-lease is a/c only

There won't be much hope for cockpit jobs with BT for the next couple months, even years. Economic situation in Latvia is at its worst and there are rumors (very strong one's indeed) that some pilots might be laid off because some fleets are overstaffed.

The current situation in Latvia is bad... Sad but true... If We are looking out, We can see first signs of economical sitation improvement in some European countries. And also You can meet activities in air companies of that countries. "Malev" started recruiting for summer season, and also "Norvegian" is opened for expierenced pilots. Currently, some pilots are leaving airBaltic. Two FO( Frank and Lars) left company at last month, and somebody are looking out for job in another companies, because rumours about salaries and another things are strong...

This is for You-pil00t

So old and incorrect information... Today is 17.07.09, but Your posted info is 5 days old. If You will look on Your posted info permalink, You will see at the right side of the page link airBaltic: Information on financial results was incorrect
Just look at this:
balticbusinessnews.com - airBaltic: Information on financial results was incorrect
Stay calm and check all info what are You posting.

And now-correct information:
airBaltic to Report its Financial Results till Mid-August

Riga. The mass media today published information on the financial results of airBaltic in 2008, and the source used was Airline Industry Update (AIU).The information on the financial results of airBaltic published by AIU up to today was incorrect, and it has been already deleted from the AIU website, http://www.airlineupdate.com/.

The information on the financial results of airBaltic published by AIU and used by the mass media contained incorrect data on the airline: the financial results were incorrect, the data on the owners were outdated, and the specified transit hubs of airBaltic were incorrect (according to AIU - Copenhagen and Vilnius, not Riga), as well as other information was incorrect.

airBaltic confirms the previously publicised information that the airline has been working with losses in 2008; airBaltic will report the audited financial results till mid-August. The airline would like to remind that precise information on it and its operation can be obtained directly from airBaltic.
