He could still hear their mocking laughter ringing in his ears as he wobbled out of the workshop, and indeed some might have called him obsessive, but Engineering Officer Cripps wasn't bitter at getting kicked off the FJ pilot course just determined to show them they'd made a mistake.

or

Times were tough and pay cuts threatened so, evoking the wartime spirit, the squadron started 'Roundel Pizzas'

or

Heh. Thanks for the heads-up. Nonetheless, I'll still leave this one open, but now I know where to look to disqualify apparently plagiaristic entries!

Thumbs up

Here, then, are the much-anticipated results for this round. The three finalists, selected from a worthy field, are:

It was only when acceptance trials started that Procurement realised the lowest-cost offer from ToysRUs had significant short-comings. (airborne_artist)

Times were tough and pay cuts threatened so, evoking the wartime spirit, the squadron started 'Roundel Pizzas' (Go Smoke)

Oo-er JENGO! Best we wash the next one on the delicate fabrics setting... (ShyTorque)

And the winner is ...

Go Smoke, you have control.

Thanks for that adr, it's much appreciated.

Give me a mo and I'll rummage around for something worthy of the outstanding witticisms of you lot.

Thanks again,
GS.

Ok, here we go with the next round.
I hope this picture does the job ok.
I think it gives plenty of scope for a multitude of interpretations
Best of luck,
GS.
