Hi Larry.

I have discussed your post with the senior management at NEXUS as well as with the chairman and we have to admit we are all very disappointed that you decided to voice your opinion in such a public way.

We are further saddened that you post these allegations with only the input from a single crew member who is no longer with the company. I will gladly assist him in resolving any issues he might have however I need to be made aware of problems before I can deal with them, which was not the case here.

I’d like to continue by saying that we are not prepared to engage on public forum about unsubstantiated allegations and would strongly suggest that you do the same immediately. There is no place for hurtful posts like this in professional aviation. You are welcome to phone me and voice any misgivings that you may have, you have my number?
___
To the readers of this post, I would like to apologize on behalf of NEXUS Flight Operations Services that this was posted here. We are prepared to resolve matters like these amicably but feel that posts like these don’t help in actually resolving anything.

Hi Ibis.

It would be great if you let me know who you are so that I can contact you.

Only three pilots left us this year, one is not entitled to any benefits; the merits of which is not for a public forum, the other already received his settlement we have one pending with a pilot who left us recently and he is being paid out this week.

Hi One Mile.

I am always looking for fresh resumes to keep on hand should we have movement within the company. We have several pilots who have been here almost 5 years, and many more over 2 years so we do not have too much movement. I do however see the US market is definitely opening up ore every month and this is affecting the East and Middle East.

We require experienced pilots with a definitive corporate background and at least 1000 hours jet time.

Feel free to contact me via PM if you meet these requirements and should you wish to get my email address.

Nexus definitely will not pay....

I know of 4 crew that have absconded/resigned right after pay day (all within 3 months). All with the knowledge that this is the only way to ensure at least part of their work is remunerated.

I myself needed to attend meetings, so I was unable to stay past the due date for my last salary - let alone final payment. My last pay check was actively stopped and I have received one email in the past five weeks to indicate a last salary/final settlement which is completely incorrect. I have had no formal response from HR regarding this matter for 3 weeks, despite sending many emails and reaching out to two managers.

Others have refused to leave the country until final salary/settlement has been taken care of. I wish I had been in a position to do that!

I wish I could say something positive, as I could from my last job. The only thing I can do is warn you against the company. There are plenty of other jobs out there. My advice would be to exhaust those options before even considering a job here.

I have been deeply saddened to see the treatment of both myself and fellow crew over the course of my tenure and as you can see from above - this is not new for Nexus. I left on mutually beneficial terms, but to get any response regarding payment is proving impossible. Fair pay for fair work done doesn't seem to be something the company adheres to - they play by their own rules......

Losing Aircraft

Rumour has it that Nexus flight operations are losing aircraft. The last one I heard of was a Gulfstream from Dubai. I think the crew went with the aircraft and haven't received their final pay. There are a group of flight attendants and pilots who have resigned and not been paid their last months salary or any end of service benefits. I also have heard of other contracts being lost. Sounds like there is no money! Given that Nexus is not doing what they are obligated to do I find it hard to believe that freefly_rulz is coming to their defence! Especially as they have resigned from a bad situation before. I guess it only counts if it is happening to you. Here's your post to jog your memory: Federal air

Hi Flying_D.

Welcome to PPRuNe with your very first post! I also see you looked at my post history and jogging my memory was a great idea, thank you - I do indeed leave organizations which I do not believe in - Fedair was one of those at that time and I am still glad I left ( I believe they really picked up their game when they replaced certain managers).

Unluckily, and as stated before I don't discuss matters in public especially with people like you who hide behind first post nicknames with dubious intentions and want to use an old Gulfstream IV's being parked as example of a company "losing aircraft" - I have an open door policy and you are welcome to contact me should you require any clarity on matters (should you have such a right), or BEST still have the crew spreading these rumours contact me as I have not had a single call/message from a single person - they all have my personal and work mobile numbers and they know I am very reachable 7 days a week - it seems you don't have all your ducks in a row.
As for you - I can be reached via our switchboard number on the website, or you are welcome to send me your number and I'll gladly give you a call to hear what gripes you may have since it is clear you are not an ex-staff member.

As a matter of interest to the aviation community - we acquired the full management of a very nice medium sized jet last week, something which I am quite excited about and look forward to the four new pilots joining us. The Flight Operations Team is doing our absolute best to ensure world class standards and operating procedures and we work tirelessly to train our staff to these. A professional pilot is a safe pilot.

Cheers,

Gulfstream IV's
Apologies for the thread drift, but as you used the plural, which G-IV's are parked? The only ones that i have seen are the ex-Saudia SFS aircraft that are presently getting readied to be flown to the USA.

Interesting that "freefly" saw it fit to respond in such grave detail to someone " who hide(s) behind first post nicknames with dubious intentions"and yet blatantly pass over the comments regarding non-payment whilst so many crew emails are being blatantly ignored - day in and out - in regards to this issue.

Flying D, I can confirm that the Gulfstream was lost during my tenure. My own project was lost 2 weeks after I left. I was not aware that the Gulfstream crew have also been denied payment. I'm sure that equally, as a group of consummate professionals they are also feeling insulted by the lack of payment for services rendered. It has now been 15 weeks since my departure and no sign of any payment - for any of us - it was a large project. The complete lack of response from the office it seems; continues to represent crew experiences across the board.

I feel as if sites such as these provide professional crew with a vehicle to keep other crew aware of the pitfalls of considering working for such companies. I believe as crew, we have a social and ethical responsibility to report company policies such as the reoccurring, poorly managed and duplicitous standards at Nexus Flight Operations.

On a lighter note, I can imagine our ex-Chief Pilot thinking "How you like me now?" which does provide me with at least some comic relief! God bless him.

I worked for the company for 2 years. It cost me money to work here

In this time Nexus do not bother to apply for a Resident Visa for me (this is illegal), I had a tax audit in my home country and no way to prove I was a resident in Saudi. Had to pay back a lot of money in taxes.

Company uses cheap local insurance plan designed for office workers. If you need medical assistance outside GCC you pay from your pocket and get reimbursed. I have lost at least $1,000. I could not lodge a claim because I don't have "resident permit". Nexus told me would take care of .They lost documents and took too long and then it was too late to claim. When I complained I was told "I should have done it myself.?!?!?"

My aircraft had 10 pilots leave in last 3 years. None of these pilots (including myself) resigned properly, everyone waits for salary and leaves. No point to resign properly as you will not get your benefits. This on its own tells you what you need to know about company

I have been told by manager of Flight Operations that crew are not allowed to make mistakes!!!! I also was reprimanded for questioning a flight plan for a safety reason.

It is not a safe company if crew are scared of mistakes and Captain is discouraged for questioning something for safety

Rotation never respected. So much pilot turnover it always changes. Company tries to make home SBY for Mx count as your off days. When I left I was owed 30 days by company that I was never getting back.

Salary sometimes on time, sometimes as late as 3 weeks.

Finally I got another job that wanted me to start immediately. I bought my own ticket and left when I get paid my salary. Normally I would never act like this to an employer but Nexus create a situation where I feel I have no choice.

As the final insult, I forgot to leave behind my company phone and ipad( $150 cheap Samsung old old Ipad that needs replacing) After my tax bill and insurance money I was not going to spend one cent to courier these items back.

Nexus send the police to my home in Europe.Police laughed when I explain the situation and I apologize for wasting their time. They told me to keep the items. I wonder if Freefly knows who sent them........

Trend monitoring

I am sorry you find my screen name "dubious". I do not find it any more dubious than freefly_rulz, do you? Now that we have the small talk out of the way, how about addressing some issues? How about the trend of people leaving the company without giving notice just to get their last months pay? This trend appears to be driven by the fact that people who have resigned, professionally, get nothing they are owed. As VVIP Crew noted emails have been ignored and calling the office results in either no answer or being told to expect a call back and never getting one. Another trend. This is also first hand knowledge not rumour.

Also, given that you seem to be the only positive voice amongst many, how do you think the aviation community will react to your comments? Maybe there is another trend here? The group of discontented former employees who don't get paid what they are due seems to be another growing trend from Nexus. Rather than towing the company line you should assess the trends and see them for what they are. I will be happy to discuss this with you personally when I receive the money I am owed. Given it has been so long already this conversation will most likely never happen.

These websites are a place for people working in aviation to share opinions and personal experiences for others to view. As these are my opinions, it is left to the reader to interpret them as they like. No professional is going to accept or reject employment based off one bad "review" of a company. But where there are many bad "reviews" it may make them think twice.

Although "Freefly_rulz" is more appropriate than "Freefly_manages"

The "open door policy" exists as long as you agree with him and company policy.

Once that stops you get the standard, self righteous email about how much he does for the crew and how "unprofessional" you are. Several pilots have received one of those.

It is a mystery why he so actively defends the company.Yes, Nexus has been kind to him, he has been given a nice management post and a type rating. But unless he is deaf, blind and stupid he knows what Nexus is doing to its current and past crew.

Maybe he doesn't care, as Flying_D mentioned, maybe it only counts when it happens to you.

Maybe as the person who recruits pilots, he knows how hard this thread will make it to hire new crew.

Maybe he's just been drinking the Nexus Kool Aid for too long.

I've been waiting some time to post this, but had to wait until my ties to this goat show were completely severed.

My aim in posting, is to spare others the trouble of working for Nexus. If you are considering a job with Nexus, my story it is a bit long winded, so let me save you time if you’re in a rush.

REASONS NOT TO WORK FOR NEXUS
- You like getting paid.
- You enjoy working for a safe, well run company
- Job security is important to you

REASONS TO WORK FOR NEXUS
- No one else will hire you. ANYWHERE
- You have no social skills and/or mental health defecits that prevent you from functioning in any other workplace ( You’ll LOVE Nexus, you’ll have a corner office in no time)
- You want a management role on your CV and only have experience in dodgy brothers outfits in the developing world.

If you’ve got a spare 5 minutes,read on.

I was cabin crew with the company for 3 years. I was terminated, effective immediately, no reason given, even after asking several times.

The reason “not given” being, Nexus lost a HUGE project, a crew member, who is very “loyal” to the CEO, was out of a job and was given mine.

I was terminated, not only out of the country, but, whilst breaking my trip from home back to work for a few days. A ticket Nexus booked for me, so knew they had terminated me in transit. I was told HR would send me my salary expenses and benefits.

Knowing the problems others were having getting paid, and that labor law requires you to be in country to cancel your residence visa ( failure to do so would stop me working in Saudi in the future), I used my ticket that had already been purchased to return and fight for my money.

On my return, Nexus cancelled my exit visa and threatened me that my being in the country was illegal, I should leave and they would send me my money. As a Saudi resident, I was not “illegal” this was a threat to try to scare me away.

For 2 and a half months I was, effectively, held prisoner in Saudi Arabia. Nexus repeatedly told me I should leave and they would send me what I was owed. VVIP FLYER being a good friend of mine, I knew this was utter horse crap. The company ignored emails for weeks at a time. NO ONE in the office answers the phone ,when you call people in managements cell numbers they promise to call you back and never do.

I was unable to look for a new job as I did not know how long I was to be trapped.

Finally, a tremendously kind offer of help from some one with “wasta” got me paid. I should have been paid more , but that involved a court case, and staying in Saudi for another 6 months, not earning money and slowly going bonkers. After 10 weeks as a female in Saudi in the middle of summer not knowing when I could leave, I was already beginning to unravel a little. Were it not for my well connected saviour, I have little doubt I would still be trapped.

The icing on the cake, when I FINALLY got paid and tried to leave, it transpired Nexus had cancelled my residence visa 8 weeks before they paid me. As such, I my final exit visa had expired. I had to pay an over stay fine, change my ticket and get a new exit visa processed the next day. A class act till the end.

Some fun info about the company, if you are still reading.

- 5 projects lost in the last 2 years. The GIV mentioned is one of these. Mismanagement being the cause of almost all of these losses.
- Over $1,000,000 USD owed to the crew compound in Riyadh, there is a case in the courts and crew worry about being evicted every day. Rumour also has it handlers, catering companies, hotels etc are owed some serious cash.
- The Aircraft I worked on, had 8 pilots in 3 years A parade of one "last chance saloon" loser after the other. When we finally got some decent ones, they didn’t stick around long
- Operations manager once told me “I have no interest in keeping crew happy only passengers” (I’d buy him the Richard Branson biography, but I’m pretty sure Nexus will have folded by the time he sounds out all the big words)
- A new contract was introduced, all crew refused to sign it, some were threatened with per diems being with held. HR took to calling crew and lying about other team members having signed. This backfired spectacularly in my case. I was told “All the pilots have signed” whilst having a coffee WITH one of the pilots.
- Despite crew refusing to sign this contract, the company has updated government data bases according to the new contract. MASSIVELY ILLEGAL. If any current crew are reading this, go have a look at your GOSI contributions.

World Class Standards ....PLEASE

World Class Jack Asses more like it

Blindly defending the company on a public forum, with more than a fair idea of what has been going on for many of us, makes it hard for anyone to take you seriously.
