Etihad Cadet Pilot Programme

Hi all

Firstly, I apologise if there has already been a post about this. After a quick search I couldn't find one.

Has anyone looked on their website (http://careers.etihadairways.com/ehi...ish/index.aspx) with regards to the scheme? I am just filling out my application now but where it mentions about putting NA in the boxes that don't apply to you (Employment history - that is previous airline positions/ Current Licenses, etc) but doing this doesnt allow you to save this information.

Anyone else had difficulties?

Same problem

Ad,

I've had exactly the same problem and got no idea how to sort this out.
Has someone found a way round this?

the email address they give you in need of assistance ([email address]) does not seem to work either.
and it is difficult to find an alternative email for them.

if all else fails, try and contact them via the 'feedback' button at the bottom left of the page.

hopefulyl that helps...but anymore suggestions, please feel free to share.

Have you tried putting in your last non pilot employment, and just putting 0 hrs in the boxes?

the application is for the Cadet Pilot Programme..and I have not worked for an airline before. it looks like it's a standard application form for all flight crew positions, and extra info is given to 'aid' the cadets who will be applying.
And yes, i have tried entering '0' in the spaces.

I managed to submit it. I had to put in 1 hours flying, some made up dates for starting and finishing in all the mandatory field boxes. I then inputted NA for the airline I had worked for, NA for the shcool etc.

If you put n/a it won't work.

I am hoping they will relaise that this data is false to just get the form to submit. Good point is it may mean they have had few applicants!

Etihad Cadet Program

Hey guys, very true.. if u try applying, it re-directs u, and matters worse, they have said that u should not write u have any flying experience when u have not flown, BUT the system will not allow u.. Lets keep trying again and again, and hope all works well..

I have been looking at the scheme as well.

I notice that the expiry date is 31/12/08. Does this mean they will contact applicants only after this date?

Etihad cadet salary

I have a question about the cadet scheme, on the Etihad website is says cadets will receive a stipend of aed6000 per month (around £800). Is this whilst you are doing the 18months of training? or is this your salary for the 72 months (6 years) you commit to working for them?

evening all,

im also trying to submit my application form but with no success due to that NA thing, and i dont really wanna lie saying i have flown for airlines etc when i haven't. but im thinking, if you have had flying lessons etc, could you put that in? just to be able to submit the b******

if anyones got any answers im sure we'd all like to know.

to answer other questions, Flight International says the programme will take 12 applicants to learn with the current UAE nationals. so it's not just there for UAE nationals, it's there for everyone between the age of 18 and 26.

they will take 12 applicants now to start in june, and another 12 to start either in september or december, not sure exactly, so if you make the june course...they'll contact you soon enough.

hope this helps people out, and i'll still try to submit this damn application!

im not sure about when you start getting paid, or about preferences. but i guess if you apply after the first course starts you'll be trying for the 2nd course anyway.

shuchim, the courses are for people with no flying experience as well. if you check the etihad website it'll say the form is for both experienced and non experienced.

Interesting programme Etihad are undertaking.

I can't find a FAQ page there, am I missing it?

I'm curious about in the 6 years you must work for them after completing training, whether you can be based in London rather than Abu Dhabi? Also, how easy (and how much £££) is it to transfer the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) ATPL to the JAA ATPL?

Why on earth would you want to live in London rather than Abu Dhabi?

The conversion process to JAA from GCAA will be fairly lengthy I suspect!

With a high of 36 in April, imagine how it will be in the summer.
