It's not the usual UK layout either. Looks more like continental Europe - France, Germany or perhaps even Soviet.

After some further research, it seems that the current runway at this airfield was rebuilt on a different alignment than that during and after WWII.
Here is an intermediate image, taken while a shortened version of the original runway was present, with the new, and current runway in the process of being built.
And I have just discovered that there are two airfields in this image. Bonus points if you can name them both.

Marvellous. Adolf Wurth Flugplatz. There's even a li'l flivver sitting on the ramp at grass strip Weckrieden, in the GE Year 2000 imagery. I had a cheap shot to offer but photobucket won't let me in this evening. After the weekend maybe, LFH
