The owner (of the airport) just needs another 250 foot landing distance and then he can land his new Hondajet there in the rain

You need to try and think a little bit laterally! Did you ever get bought a puzzle book where you had to join the dots paully etc? The absolute classic softening up process ready for the infrastructure!

I was told i'd lose my foot but the doctor said it was just an in-growing toe nail! I actually left feeling happy!

Not a town the size of Harrogate in the middle of nowhere - just a fledgling airport with suitable roads and a few houses! - everyone's happy!

Next will be the HS2 announcement on Nov 23rd to divert/occupy the mind.

BTW it's Leeds East Airport not east leeds airport (grow up) and nobody is going to be 'shouting' or 'screaming' about it.

'pipe dream' - of course it is a dream - a massive aspiration for the last failing economic area of Great Britain. There are gigantic companies and their politicians who want it stopped so please binocular swingers grow up and support this North East and Yorkshire civil aviation acorn that will in future years transform the whole economy of North Eastern [including Yorkshire and Humberside] England.

Well he is back after a long break still going on about the benefits of his pipe dream of an airport!

'You were told you was going to lose your foot but the doctor told you that it was an in growing toe nail'

Very dramatic indeed but then again I'm not surprised.

So your pipe dream of an airport will become a housing estate so now hopefully you can put to bed your pipe dream of 'East Leeds Airport'.

Anyone who thinks that people in this green and pleasant land will "be happy" at the idea of a "fledgling airport and a few houses" on their doorstep is clearly in need of serious medical help............................ most of them go mad if you paint your front door a different colour

Exactly! And unless there were to be some "national plan" that forced the closure of LBA and development of Church Fenton the result of developing the latter would be another unnecessary commercial airport being opened, that would undoubted lose money for the operators, whilst at the same time diluting traffic away from LBA that also wouldn't close.

The UK, perhaps excepting the Southeast, needs fewer, better airports, rather than loads of smaller ones that a struggle to remain viable.

LOL You quite clearly do not have the slightest inkling about what I am referring to!

But they are happy Larry - because plans for a gigantic town where they live have just been withdrawn.

Paully,

I can call my house a castle but William & Kate aren't likely to come calling anytime soon, someone has named Church Fenton an airport when, at best, it is an airfield or aerodrome ... Rochester is a named airport also but one isn't likely to see any Airbus's or Boeing's launching from there anytime soon!

This area is supposed to be regarding airlines, airports and routes, none of these have anything in common with Church Fenton so why not just everybody ignore this thread and leave him talking to himself?

Nice to see the new EGCM ATZ is now published on the charts. One step at a time.

Interesting primary/ secondary highway visual proposals [+ railway station]. I will use this information to work out the reduced point to point times and hence the increase in time population catchment.

All I say to anyone on here is keep an open mind. timeo danaos et dona ferentes!
