No idea, someone has commented on the BRS page about WOW pulling out......wouldn't be surprised if it's all wrong as they've only been there less than a year

No-one has said there weren't enough passengers. WOW haven't confirmed the route is ending.
BRS flights haven't been put on sale, which is an indication that the route may be ending, but there's nothing official yet. WOW released Pitsburgh this week and a number of other new routes in the past week or 2, so the flights are still being released. Lets not get carried away.

Isn't Holyhead also Anglesey, there is only one airport on Anglesey and it's not at Holyhead.

Well, I have flown into Anglesey via Valley and Mona on Citywing - but admittedly, neither one is/was sold as Holyhead. Unless Citywing throws in a floatplane every Friday...

Thomson are having trouble sourcing an airline to operate the Malta route next summer as it looks like Air Malta are withdrawing from operating the route due to lack of aircraft and financial cutbacks

The same applies to Exeter , Newcastle and East Midlands at the moment

Such a shame as Air Malta have had a presence at CWL for umpteen years and MLA seemed to have good load factors.

Let's hope TOM get a replacement in on that route !! Can't they operate it using their own aircraft ? Especially as no NBE or SSH (still)

Flew with Air Malta last year, and article in their in-flight mag said they were reducing fleet by 2 (319's I think) in an effort to reduce costs and compete (at the same time RYR have I believe increased their MLA operation, for example).

Air Malta

Air Malta are only operating to BHX and BRS in S17 (May - Oct, both weekly on Tuesdays), in addition to their established scheduled year round ops to LHR, LGW and MAN. I guess the flights to Cardiff etc. were essentially charters: If they have reduced their fleet size, something has to give.

Surely as TOM have used Air Malta for years and years and especially now as they've cancelled Tunisia and Egypt they must have capacity to add a weekly Malta service ?

Excellent news, further commitment to CWL and i imagine some cheap fares that will get EZY's backs up over at BRS, especially since A321 will be used.

What's with the Bristol obsession? Bristol seems to get more mentions on this thread than Cardiff!!
