Thanks for the answer regarding G-TAWE folks.

Anyone have answers to the other questions?

TOM532

Hi Everyone,

Does anybody know why TOM532 CWL-SSH, G-TAWG diverted to LGW after departure this morning?

Flight has just re-departed LGW on G-FDZT.

Why is the G-FDZ* series missing quite a lot of letters? C, H, I, K-P and V are all missing (Q is obviously not used in the UK)
H, I, L, M, N were all registered to the G-CDZ- range transferred from the original Britannia Airways Sweden 738's, all which have now left the TOM fleet to other airlines. However these aircraft were still within the fleet as the G-FDZ- range were being delivered and ofcourse the same airline will not have the same final 3 letters of a registration in a fleet for obvious reasons.

O, P, R and a few others have been previously registered to the G-FDZ- range but have since left TOM due to end of leases or have transferred across to other TUI Airlines... Many different factors ofcourse dictate which ones leave the fleet and doesn't necessarily end up being in age / alphabetical order.

Other reasons such as the registrations that have already been used in the passed mean they'll be skipped or if there are similarities to other registrations within a fleet or even certain words e.g G-TAWT because of what it could be mistaken for...

Don't think there is much of significance in long haul for S15. There will be regional Dubrovnik and Marrakesh to tie in with some cruise expansion. A few reshuffles here and there, with the usual suspects seeing the best of the pickings.

Marrakech is inland, about three hours to the coast by road. Not suitable as a cruise transfer point.

A Thomson flight from Cardiff to Egypt was forced to divert to Gatwick after it hit a flock of seagulls.

The pilot decided to land the aircraft after the crew detected a smell like 'roast chicken'.

Passengers on board the Thomson Airways flight to Sharm El Sheikh said they were told an hour into their journey they were being grounded, said the Daily Mail.

One passenger told the newspaper that the aircraft had gone as far as Basle in Switzerland when the pilot announced the flight was returning to the UK.

A spokesman from Thomson said the diversion was a precautionary measure and passengers continued their trip on an alternative aircraft.

"We would like to reassure customers that issues of this nature are very rare," said the company, in a statement.

Ah right, thanks for the response!

I like how the Daily Mail added another 121 passengers presuming the flight was even full

"300 passengers" on a 189 738

Thomson Airways is to dramatically boost its presence in Croatia by adding at least 5 new routes for S15 and by opening up a new destination: Split.

Glasgow-Dubrovnik
Newcastle-Dubrovnik
Bristol-Dubrovnik
Gatwick-Split
Manchester-Split

TOM already serves both Pula and Dubrovnik with departures from Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham.

Why is G-TAWC currently flying between Eilat and CDG? Or is that a FR24 error?

@ Tolvern 14 / Hull City AFC

Mahon is actually new for NWI. Was dropped after S12, AFAIK and now appears to be back for next summer.
