Passport question
G'day
I am American with a U.S. passport but have been a permanent resident of Australia for the past 9.5 years. I have a sticker in my passport issued by Australia immigration which allows me to travel in and out of Australia (similar to a visa}
What happens when I renew my passport? Can I use my old passport as a visa, or do I need to get another resident sticker for my new passport?

not sure how it works in your case but I am the reverse - oz living in the US on greencard.
Before my greencard arrived, I was on an L2 visa and when my oz passport expired, I simply renewed my oz passport and carried my old passport for the visa.
It may be the same for you - many countries will permit you to carry the visa in an old passport.
good luck,
where you living?
