Hey Boys, does anyone know how long too wait for a spanish base at the moment?

rogue leader 29th June 2017 12:53

At the recruitment event 2 weeks ago at Gatwick they said they were recruiting for Barcelona, Madrid and Rome currently.

samca 29th June 2017 15:15

They told me that they can not garantee any base. You have to bid every 6 months when the bidding period open... soo. I can not sign a contract if I don't know where I'm going to work.

I asked again 1 week ago via email and same answer. So I will stay where I am now

Marchisio 30th June 2017 16:57

So they don't even give a list of bases to choose from when you are offered the job? They just assign a base after the contract is signed?!
 What an amazing hiring strategy if you want to hire new pilots.

trancada 30th June 2017 17:20

But there also opening for bases in Norway, Bergen, Stavager and Thromso.
Does anyone know the roster there?

lansen 30th June 2017 17:22

Just curious, what is the average monthly net at Norwegian on an OSM contract?

Its called basebidding according to senority and MSL. This means you have to be in it, to win it...

FlipFlapFlop 30th June 2017 17:58

That makes it an easy decision then. They have a shortage of pilots yet applicants do not know where they are applying for. Bonkers.

Quick question for the DEC guys who have recently passed the interview; which OCC dates have you been offered?

How can you sign a contract without knowing if you gonna end up in Helsinki or in Gran Canaria? Quite hard if you have a family life and want to plan just 1 month ahead.:ugh:

samca 1st July 2017 15:34

That's common sense. Seems to be that lot of people lost it time ago in this job...

trancada 8th July 2017 18:57

Anyone knows about Stavanger, Bergen and Tromson bases?
Rosters and T&C's?

How is base stability once you get a base?

directmisbi 21st July 2017 12:56

Depends, but it should be alright efter a year or so, once you start building seniority it all helps. Base bids are now done electronically, and vacant postions are published beforehand via an email to all crew.
Very transparent and easy to use:ok:

The base is TRONDHEIM, and all positions are filled for the last round of SCAN-area deals.

Roster is 5/4, as I saw you requesting that information further up.
Preference was on local guys and gals to the bases this time, as the results of hiring a herd of dutchies last year came through; They got core, then went of to KLM, as you would expect.

They wanted home, luckily the same reasoning was applied this time for the norwegian bases - bring people home and they'll stay.

As for basebidding, once you get to your preferred base you should no longer have to bid. Just leave it in the system as is, and you'll stay. Unless of course someone decides the base is too crowded. (Hard to imagine during a lack of crew, eyh?)

Good afternoon,

Any ideas or thoughts if or when is NAS going to recruits cadets with no previous experience (270 hrs here, CPL, ME/IR, MCC, ICAO lvl 5) ? I suppose NAS does not provide TR payed by themselves?

olav737NG 25th July 2017 07:18

I guess there is no need to bring your own food and drink like at RYR?

When can you expect command upgrade?

Are there many night flights and layovers?

Hello,

I have recently applied to Norwegian by filling out the application on the web, and creating a new CV via their webpage to "ease" things up for the recruiter.

After approximately 3 weeks I reveiced an email stating the following:

"Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your application and interest on Norwegian.

Following our new process, before we can process your application forward we need you to complete, sign and send us the attached document. This will give us enough information to conduct the rest of the process.
After we have received the document we can proceed with planning your assessment.

We look forward to hear back from you!"

Have you others received this also? Or its something new?
Or was always standard before getting the invite for the online tests?

Thanks.

DutchExpat 9th January 2018 13:38

They are indeed making changes to the process The idea is to make it more tailor made depending who’s applying. This to not have a 25000 hr captain jump the same hoops as a 200 cadet. So hopefully that is why you are seeing a change.
