I have no idea what history "Bondi" has with Norwegian, but having gone through 3 different bases in the company in the past almost 5 years I do believe I have a pretty good grip on how it is to work for them.
It is true that being thrown on an OSM contract was a bit of a let down, and boy have we had our battles with them on an everyday basis for a long time. However, in my humble opinion we are at the moment in a place where things are, for me at least, quite good. The pay needs to improve a bit comparing to our orange counterparts etc, but on a daily basis, I really do not have any other places I want to be right now. You call in sick or fatigued - no problem. You get long term sick - no problem. You mess up something- they listen to you. Training department is on the ball, and constantly trying to iron out potential threats. I could go on and on. We periodically work a lot (not too surprising in an expanding environment tbh) which is constantly being addressed with the union. I do realize that it is not the well oiled machine that they aspire to be just yet, but having felt the changes first to the worse, then to the better I actually see things in quite a positive light. I know its not a popular stand here on pprune, but there you go. I find that some people always look for the bad stuff and focus on that for an eternity instead of actually taking a step back to look at the big picture of it all. I think it is important to understand that the personal experiences with a company vary to an almost extreme degree. If you expect a "Scandinavian BA". then stay away. If you expect something like easyjet, you are more likely to be on target. Oh, and with day off payments and flying into my days off, I am at around 130K this tax year flying from the left seat excluding pension and extras. |
Someone close to me has just completed his first year with Norwegian. Before that, he had done 10 years at FR.
He is happy in his new job and actually looks forward to getting his roster! |
Yeah, it's not like FR was setting the bar very high.

Hello fellows,
Have any of you been recently approved in the Norwegian assessment? I would like to deal with the paperwork for the contract from now, because I am moving from another country. Do you have a list of the documents requested by the company? (Europe, NTR FO) |
Some info for you guys looking at Norwegian:
Just went through the assessment process and it was pretty straight forward just like most people here mention. Although it seems they are changing the recruitment process, since we all went through different "hoops" (between the 8 candidates on that day) If you get called for the interview expect it to be on short notice. Interview was very laid back, with no technical questions what so ever (applied as NTR). Most of the focus on the interview was on the applicants experience in daily operations. For example: "Tell us about a hard day in your work. What made it hard, what did you do, etc" They wanted very detailed information if you talked about a specific situation. Basically they wanted you to tell about the flight, from briefing to, take-off, cruise, approach landing and so on. A full story basically. Sim was pretty basic. Visual circuit (no AP, or FD) followed by a landing. Then take-off with eng fail, AP and FD avail followed by a non-precision approach. They want to see good CRM. Even if both of you are totally lost on the 737, they want to see how you solve the situation. All modes are available on the 737. VNAV, LNAV etc. But use them with caution. Better to just keep things simple if you are non rated, and especially if one of you are rated, and the other one is not. I recommend to use simple modes for approach such as, V/S, VORLOC etc.. Results was given quick, within one working day. For information for those attending the recruitment in the near future: All bases are now full, and so are all courses. If you get a positive answer you will be put in the hold pool until further. At the moment it looks like there will be a long wait, most probably until autumn/winter for the next courses. Recruiters spoke about LGW base as being most probable, or perhaps some of the bases in Spain. Speaking about LGW, does any one have any T and C for LGW, or any Spanish base for that matter? PM would be fine if information is not to be put on public forum (for what ever reason that may be?) Thanks |

That’s very bad news...
hopefuly it will change soon! Will apretiate any update! |
How many pilots ended up joining from Monarch on the 737 fleet? Decent number? |
Screened on March 15th, been notified of pass the day after.
after 20 days I ve been offered EDI/DUB base, even tough I did ask for another one (under crewed as well btw), so far I am negotianing with them. As far as I understood the roster for 737 transantlic ops is kind of: DUB LGW as DH with ezy or so, then LGW JFK on Y tkt with 787 NAS, then layover there, the day after ground transport to PVD to operate the AC back to DUB/EDI... NO THANKS FR 737 DEC |
Does anybody know anything about courses coming up soon? |
Hi all. Looking to join DUB base on the B737 MAX as NTR Captain. I'm just wondering if anyone there could PM me with typical take home figures. I have been out of Ireland for a while so not sure how much tax would be deducted etc. Also if it's possible to get an idea of the patterns flown from DUB that would be great. Is it a fixed roster there of 5/4 or 6/4? Flying only MAX routes from Ireland and EDI or also mixed in with European SH on the 737-8?
Appreciate any one that can take the time to send me a PM with a little insight. Thanks in advance. |
Is Providence (KPVD) a pilot base for NAI transatlantic ops? I couldn't find any source other than some few local news outlets in Rhode Island. Any info or insight is appreciated. |
according to NAS website, they are planning to hire cadets in the near future, well this seems interesting

Crew planning is indeed well underway for next season, growth will be less than this year, the introduction of A321NeoLR will change the dynamic Primera & Vueling pilots will be targeted for sure, assuming it’s still an independent company of course. |
