Why should I/we care about my/our colleagues? The majority made it clear to me that they don't consider anyone but themselves.

I take it Mr. Shady does not want to comment on his circle of friends :suspect:.

Hot cous-cous
Hey as17,
I find the optimum CCM (cous-cous consumption mach number) is .85M!! p.s. I'd better point out that I am being flippant -otherwise the Real Dim Shady might get the wrong end of the wrong stick!! |
What's going to happen to RYR take home pay when the current tax-free status of sector pay is attacked by the tax man?
Down by £500 a month I've heard.. WWW ps A17, I've many thousands of more hours on 737's than you dear but I've never been tempted to brag up its high speediness.. |
Some of us don't have to fly at cost index 0. Well done as17 you've just prompted me to not bother helping out the next Ryanair who wants to fly faster than me. I shall continue on my merry way saving my company a bit of cash and arriving with a bit more fuel in hand than I expected, not because I have to but because I want to and because I can. You can now lump it rather than expect me to help. And no I don't work for Easy. But maybe you can tell me why I should get out of the way |
When I read threads like this I sometimes despair at what this profession, or at least it's current encumbent perpetrators of aviating as a profession, have allowed themselves to become. . . both professionaly and personally.
Seldom do I have the misfortune to read so much invective and spiteful hot air as found on Ryanair threads, and this one is as "fine":{ an example as I have seen. . . Hell, even the mods are sticking their oar in :ugh: Gentlemen (and I use the term very loosely :hmm: ) you should be ashamed of the depths to which you have plummeted, what are you, commanders of aircraft ,or a bunch of chavs for chrissakes . . . you sound just like a bunch of Saturday night yobs, sad, bloody sad. Did nobody ever tell you "live and let live" ? Grow up ! ! := |
Captplaystation:
Could not agree more!! The intensity of high pitched shrills posted appear to be directly proportional to seniority (here I'm referring to FO, SFO, Capt and TRE). I find this a puzzle and unusual as in most walks of life as we mature and develop experience we become a little bit more thoughtful and less prone to reaction....maybe RYR are promoting Capt at too young an age??? It would appear, anecdotally, that this is RYR promotion strategy as older guys with experience have been sadly sidelined. |
"so how much do you get paid actually?"
@ Studi, Why dont you mind your own business? Yes, there is stil a lot of stuff thats needs improving at RYR, however these daily rants about terms and conditions that really doesnt concern you, is getting annoying. We need support to change, your aggresive behaviour is counterproductive to say the least. Remember physics and the"action-reaction"? Try a more educated approach, think about that next time you sit and eat your crew meal sausages in that Germanwings cockpit of yours:E |
21000 pounds according to ppjn as a starter F/O. Is that after tax?
|
Nobody has yet mentioned the fact that BRK (and FR?) crews are paid in €euros and not in £sterling.
I still do part time work in the simulator (not for FR) and I also get paid paid in €euros. If you happen to live in UK (like I do) and you get paid in €euros then you are doing very well compared with some other poor b*stard who is being paid in £sterling. It will not last for ever but enjoy it while you can! |
Weasel,
The sector pay of easyjet is being taxed: the Revenue have conducted an examination of the expenses of FR crew but have not made any resolution reagarding the tax position. The comparison is not straightforward as easy crews have crew food supplied by the company whereas at FR we don't. The likelihood is that there will be some not insignificant difference in the outcome. |
Yes, the lack of crew food will make a difference to the allowance the taxman is willing to give. Despite the drawn daggers here I hope he isn't as mean spirited with you as he was with us the flint hearted swine. We all work hard for our money at the end of the day.

RYR's 'best paid pilots' lie!
as17
a captain last week who's brother works for Easyjet as a captain as well... said he earns a lot more than him Don't believe these bloody RYR lies and stop spreading them around. When a RYR captain makes earns the same as a f.o. with Easy (fact!), they are NOT the best paid pilots!! := |
"When a RYR captain makes earns the same as a f.o. with Easy (fact!), they are NOT the best paid pilots!!"
Please provide the numbers then if you are so sure it is a fact....otherwise, you are talking BS. |
No one is forced to work for Ryanair, so I have no sympathy for anyone who does and feels they are being  by them, and conversely I am happy for those who feel they are on a good deal.
We all have choices, and funnily enough, people chose of their own free mind's to work for Ryanair. Why do those who dont work for them feel the need to complain about the T & C's. |
South Coast, ever heard of industry standard?
|
Please tell me who sets an 'industry standard'?
Surley an industry standard would be the average or mean of the industry, so Ryanair would bring down the average, while a legacy carrier (BA, Virgin) would increase the average, and the average being, the industry standard. A man is entitled to run his business however he wants, no one forces anyone to work for Ryanair, people are obviously happy to accept those T&C's and so he is allowed to carry on in that fashion. One company doesn't set an 'industry standard', surely? |
So by your argument the industry average would never change because whilst one company is reducing their T&C's another is increasing them.
Status Quo!? Financial and employment terms and conditions can be adjusted by the management towards their respective averages, and in fact below them as is the case at Ryanair. If the average is lowered then there is less of an argument for other companies to increase them or indeed to leave them where they are. The standard or average isn't set by one company but it can be affected by one. while a legacy carrier (BA, Virgin) would increase the average Trends. Downward. Started. Plughole. |

EZ Senior f.o., based in Spain (MAD) €90k RYR Captain, based in Spain (MAD/ALC/REU/GRO) €95k Ok, so the RYR Captain does earn more than a f.o. at EZ , but then a Captain in EZ, based in Spain would be on around €130k. You may have a choice to go and work for RYR, maybe because you believe all the lies and facts-spin they're coming out with, but complaining about T&C fall on deafmen's ears and plainly ignored.:ouch: |
Captain in EZ, based in Spain would be on around €130k. http://www.easyjetcareers.com/flight...-contracts.asp PS these are pre 2008/9 payrise, hence my 160K figure Over to you Slim......... |
