The contract between cirrus and condor has an option for condor to pull out of the deal immediately whenever they want.
At the moment there is no pilot shortage at condor as they have more pilots than last year and the same number of planes. It is basicly a try to flag part of the operation out in preparation for a merger with air berlin. |

You still have an assessment for the cirrus job? That deal is pulled off in a deal between the VC (german ALPA) and Lufthansa/Condor.

I assume that only applications of pilots with a 757/767 typerating will be accepted. So if you have some experience on either one, the SIM should not be a problem.The SIMs used are for 757-200 with PW2040 and for 767-300 with PW4062. I would expect some basic raw data flying, some approaches and maybe a couple of abnormals, but nothing really nasty. They will certainly look into your CRM skills. The check pilots are pretty straightforward and fair and do not intend to make you look like a fool. Basically be yourself, practice good airmanship and know the basics of your aircraft. A review of aircraft systems is never a bad idea. On the interview and the psychometric tests, I do not know, but I assume that just being yourself and not pushing it too hard would be the best. |

The SIM used by Cirrus Condor for selection is actually a B737-300/500 X2 at Lufthansa Flight Training FRA NOT a B757 one. Denti You are wrong! The agreement is NOT all off. Due to the agreement with Condor and the Union (VC) currently only FO's are now being selected. What oncenterline says is right that they must have the TR on the B757 however hours are not so important. I know a couple of guys who have just come directly out of Bond Aviation (Astraeus) who have selected and been contracted, with only the base check done. BD |

Condor web site mentions age limits (which I dont fulfil) and language requisites, to speak German (which I, also, do not fulfil). and nothing is mentioned towards B757. Just for A320. Are the above requisites being strictly applied? Cheers, Zero |

very interesting to read that screening is done on a 737-SIM. Is that for 757-applicants? If you have it, I would appreciate any information about T's and C's. @ zerograv I've checked the website and I am quite sure that the FO-positions offered on the A320 are permanent, unlike the FO-positions on the 757 which most probably will only be time-limited. So the requirements for the 757 regarding language and age will be different. Btw, the operator of A320 is CondorBerlin, of 757 and 767 it's Condor, so formally two different companies. |

Not so strange for B737 to be used for the B757 selection. Cirrus (who I know VERY well) use a Dash-8 SIM for the selection for their Do328, E170 AND B737 potential pilots. Cityjet use a B737-200 SIM to select the ARJ/BAe146 pilots, so it is not uncommon, although I suspect that that is more due to SIM slots at the overcrowded BAe146/ARJ sims!!! I will PM you what I know of the T's and C's. BD |
