Condor/Cirrus B757

Does anyone have any inside information on this? Cirrus are to operate 3 Condor B757s crewed by 50 contract pilots supplied by PAS, based CGN/FRA/STR from June 1st. The eventual plan is for 6 Condor aircraft to be operated by Cirrus & contract pilots.

Any information on how/why this agreement came about and how long it is for appreciated.

Did apply for the job but the package was not very good.
If they look for contract people they have to be willing to pay a bit more money in my eyes.

Air berlin is going to buy Cirrus or Condor ? Condor is owned by Lufthansa and Cirrus is a partner of Lufthansa ...

Bacause of a lack of pilots.
LH is putting all pilots to the mainline and LH Cargo and they are hardly struggeling finding suitable Pilots. Because Codor will be sold anyway nearly no one of the LH pilots is now willing to move to Condor.

I don't know but the informations supplied bi B757_pilot are 100% correct ...

That's a shame for the Cirrus turboprop drivers who are not earning this kind of money, to say the least

Will the pilots at Condor be stuck over there, not allowed to move to LH Cargo or LH mainline? How will that work now?

No, they wont as long as they get the current normal contracts based on the lufthansa general contract (Konzerntarifvertrag). Future contracts could be different and as far as i know there are allready some talks between the pilot union and condor management about that.

Will be interesting in the next two years since most german airlines at the moment have a real problem with their crewing levels, mostly due to inferior terms and conditions compared to other airlines who do operate out of and into germany.

The deal between condor and cirrus has been called off, that's my last info according to a yet to be confirmed memo from the management. However, there seems to be a lack of FOs during summer and autumn. So there might be some temporary positions, but T's and C's are not fixed yet.

It is cancelled because otherwise
Condor and LH Mainline would go for strike.
The Cirrus "contract" would have broken the contracts between LH Pilots and Management!

Please can you elaborate on your mail.

The last I heard of this yesterday was that all is going ahead as planned, but that there is a considerable amount of disinformation being thrown around by those who have an interest in this not going ahead!!!

Flughund,
you might as well be right, I agree that very often disinformation is spread to disguise the true intentions.
Right now I cannot go into the details I know about the negotiations because the final result is still pending and thus revealing any details here could put me in trouble.
What I can tell you (if you don't know already) that there are negotiations between VC (German ALPA) and the Condor management concerning various issues, and that certainly includes a possible deal between Condor and Cirrus.
A result should be achieved on thursday, so let's wait until then...

hetfield,
what were you trying to say with your last post???
