easyJet sure as hell are.
Maybe they're just not recruiting you? |
Flybe
Thomsonfly Easyjet Ryanair BA Air Arabia Emirates Etihad Gulf Air and I'm pretty sure Monarch will need to shortly. And there are probably many others at this moment in time. Whether or not you meet their experience / type requirements might be another question? |
I think all the people on your list are recruiting....maybe you don't meet their requirements?
How much experience do you have?? |
If you have less than 1000 hours and have been looking less than 2 years then join the queue.
Took me 1700 hours and 5 years (3,without 9/11). BB:( |
Hi there,
regarding recruitment with Easy Jet,can tell you, that they don't recruit at the moment, that what could be found on their web site-: According to the website :"Latest News! Our pilot recruitment needs for 2007 have now been met and we are anticipating that further course spaces will not be available until at least November 2007, from which time they will resume again on a monthly basis." (Some weeks ago it was estimated recruitment would stopped till October 2007, now it is at least until November 2007...) Regards,Ron. |
thank you for your answer :ok:
I am low hour pilot. I have no type rating + hundreds of hours on type :bored: |
If your a Low Hour pilot, then without being rude....... maybe you should try being a flying instructor or do some air taxi work to get your experience up before moaning that no one will hire you....
Good Luck. |
i think flying a big plane is borring...want my job?

EXACTLY RIGHT EASYRIDER.
It took most people I know 2-5 years minimum to get to a jet..lots of Pistons/Turbine GA stuff.. That is where you actually learn how to fly. |
Airlines are recruiting a lot of cadets: they pay for their type rating, and they are cheap labour. Either you have loads of hours on type and tou can be put on line with a minimum of training, or you fall in the "customer" category: you pay for everything and you work for free for a while. As long as they will find such candidates, it will be difficult to find a job as a F/O.

they pay for their type rating, and they are cheap labour It's a problem across the whole industry. If you add up the pounds, dollars, or whatever you like, it's actually a better financial option to take up something like an EZY TRSS, CTC Wings, etc than to pay for an instructor rating, instruct for a couple of years, fly a Shorts 360 for another two, etc. Honestly, do the maths. I'm not trying to say that paying one way or another for your type rating (even if the company disguises it under a clever name) is the only way to go, but don't kid yourself... you end up as cheap labour for the first few years of yoru flying life either way. Good old days are gone I'm afraid (and they were only possible because of the screwed up economics of route monopolies and state ownerships). P |
ATPL...
"...but don't kid yourself... you end up as cheap labour for the first few years of yoru flying life either way. Good old days are gone I'm afraid (and they were only possible because of the screwed up economics of route monopolies and state ownerships)." Very shortsighted. By buying a TR you are contributing to the downfall of T&C's throughout the industry and though your career YOUR final earnings will be lower. Do not get me wrong I can understand why people do it, and I know that for most it was a hard decision, but is one of the reasons our profession does not have the stature it once had. I have never paid for a TR and hopefully will never have to (I think I will quit before I go down that road). All of this is off topic. THERE IS Recruitment... you just have to look... http://www.futureairlinepilot.com/recruiting.html PPJN http://www.aviationjobsearch.com/ or any GA Airfield |

nuageblanc - maybe a change in attitude might help?

With regards to first impressions. The title you gave to your post could give people the wrong first impression of you without even reading what you have to say/ask.

An instructor rating costs around £5000 + you are not sitting on your arse whinging about not having a job with your 200hrs or so. Dont forget you have a CPL so got out there and bloody well use it. I used to fly the old props you were on about as an air taxi pilot, it certainly was not for peanuts, almost as much as a turboprop F/O salary. Who said that you then move up the ladder on to a Shorts 360s for a couple of years after that. Thats total b*ll*cks. Most of us with flying experience such as above tend to do better than the likes with none and a very expensive type printed on their licence.
My advice to anyone with no experience and no hours stood there with their hands open expecting a job to land on their lap. Go and get some experience! Its a tough world out there, buying a type rating is foolhardy without the offer of a job. You never know, that ATPL may be permanently frozen! I did it, now I fly a jet. |
A guy I fly with told me about one of his friends who had said no to a few flying jobs as he saw that it was his god-given right to go straight into a 737/320. Arrogant twerp...
Dont forget that anybody that ONLY does this for financial gain will be a crap pilot as they are forsaking ALOT of expereince flying the aformentioned sheds around . Every minute gained is another minute of experience you may or may not need once you fly those shiney (preettty) jets. Stop your whining noob, and start hunting for other jobs as well as waiting for those job-apps to get answered. whine whine whine.. I "demand" my right hand seat in an airliner... piss off and learn to fly as a professional first! |
