Jet2.con rosters
I work for jet2.con and have not received a roster yet. Its due to go live on 23rd March. The company are saying its due to the fact that slots have not been allocated yet for the summer season.
Without being cynical I have not heard of any other companies producing late rosters due to late slots for the forth coming summer season. I do wonder wether its more jet2.con spin and lies. |
jet2
Q/ Previously, were rosters late?, is it the norm for them to be late?. Slots - most are agreed at the October? Slot conference so done and dusted by now. My Company for example gave up asking for a Madrid slot this week, the only outstanding one (and MAD slots are as rare as LHR almost). Likely to be some spin but refer to your answer to above first :\ |
Am a little confused. Jet2.con (yes with an N) and its due to go live 23rd of march.
At first I thourght you had made a typo for Jet2.com (with an M) but it appears 3 times and also talk bout going live a week on friday. Can anyone shed any light on this? Cheers |

Always faithfull??
Now I really am confused!!!! |
I'm more interested in the long awaited payrise announcement.
|
I'm just about to join Jet2.com on the 73, I'm interested in any info you people may be able to give me with reference to:
What pay rise? Is there an annual bid system? What is a typical roster on the 73 like (BPL/MAN)? What is the dual base policy? What is time to command (hours required etc...)? Do people stay at Jet2? If given a base that isn't your number 1 choice, how long before you can ask for a base change to your preffered base? Whom deals with basing? Many thnaks, I probably have a whole lot more to ask, but just can't think at the moment, PM's are most welcome! Cheers --------------- endofeng:ok: |
So many questions, Endofeng.
One would have thought you would have these sort of queries answered before joining! |
Rads,
I would have, but jet2 seem to be pretty elusive with information! It doesn't help that there are no threads on here with jet2 info. I had my interview with jet2 last October, and only got the start date last month, so a long time has lapsed, and questions have arrose in the meantime. My basing questions are due to me not getting my number1 base option, and the rest just popped up whilst thinking! Any useful information would be helpful. Thanks ------------- endofeng:ok: |
Yes, Thankyou Danny!
Perhaps I should have been more descriptive, I menat relevant threads to my questions, as I did a search and I didn't find the answers, hence me asking on this thread. As the original thread suggests, rosters, basing policies, wages and more are changing, and as a new joiner I am interested in present and future plans, not what happened months and years ago! As some know, Jet2 have a closed door site where most company issues are discussed and resloved, but for newbies waiting to join, we don't have access to this site. So, if anyone has any uptodate info, it would be much appreciated:) cheers ---------------- endofeng:ok: |
The new rosters will be published tonight according to crewing.
There, so much easier to telephone than hanging out your dirty washing! |
Tonk,
My right hand man with the rather good line in Mcvities Chocolate Hobnobs and lives near to his new basing Holmsley South, informed me this morning that he stiil awaits his. Told him they'd be in his email box at 17.00 this afternoon ,as that is historically when it happens old boy! No one to complain too you see when you don't like what you've been rostered, as erm, it's 5 O'clock, it's Friday and it's Crackerjack. Cabbages and Kings anyone. Now wheres that pencil. |
Mine arrived at 19.31 and 33 seconds last night as per discusion with crewing, regards
|
Yep, roster is here.
Let's try to resolve everything else on our dedicated website. I once worked for an outfit where the roster was published retrospectively. |
I must admit to being one of the fatalities from the Jet2 move from Bournemouth, but I can say roster problems are the norm, base changes are more promised but never received (Capt Hayter is the person to contact) and do people stay at Jet2? Generally not. The MD is darn near impossible.
|
No 75 at Blackpool so you'll just be working out of Man. Expect 700ish hours a year 30ish per month during winter 80ish during summer. Don't believe all the stuff you read on here its a good place to work.
Enjoy:ok: |

PM's are most welcome! ERB |
Management say that recruitment is frozen at the moment, due to the very recent news that they will only have 2 737s at Manchester next year. About 4 737 FOs will be moving to the 757, so sorry to let you know obsidianUK, but there may not be any recruitment from the pool.
|
ALL job offers are on hold until the MAN base pilots are either transferred to the 757 (5 Capt's and 3-4 F/O's) or move to another base. The companies priority, and rightly so, is to deal with its existing employees before any outside recruitment.
|
Are the lucky few having to pay for their upgrade to the 'golden pig', or are they being bonded?
Is there a relocation package for the forced movers? Are those that don't want to move or change fleet being allowed to leave quietly with the company paying off their type rating debt? All this and more in the next exciting edition of the balpa log! or most likely not. I really did pull the handle at the right time didn't i. Good luck guys. |
Purple,
To be honest, the management haven't been too bad so far(jet2 isn't all bad, most airlines are the same). I think they could have handled it a little better, ie phoned individuals to see if they wanted to move to the 75, as I'm sure they will easily get the numbers they are looking for instead of recorded delivery letters half scaring crews to death! I suppose they are damned if they do, damned if they don't.... If you transfer to the 75, you will be bonded, relocation packages available to those wanting to move base under the usual relocation rules, those not wanting to move can take redundancy at £300ish per wk of service with a min of 2yrs service! Personally, I think there will be more than enough offers from Capt's and F/O's to move to the 75 to fill any gaps, so hopefully redundancy won't affect anyone. |
Why the reduction in 737s at Man?
|
Because Jet2 is getting rid of about 5 routes CDG, AMS, BGY, PRG and SXF
|
Streamlining the business
Not forgetting the TLS and BCN routes that won't be returning for S08:sad:.
The aircraft will be going to LBA to operate the expanded network from there and this will mean that Jet2 won't have to wet lease any third party aircraft to cover the schedule for the first time in years:D. |
Which aircraft were they due to wet lease?
|
Well, the 737 guys at manch will always have a job. We have lots of 757's at Leeds that need a good clean. Come on over, we have loads of rags.
It beats the usual gun battles over a banana in Manchester Asda's or swilling cheap plonk trying to impress pikeys in Wilmslow :yuk: |
King H,
We've got enough of our own 757's to crew for S08:D, so you'll just have to keep cleaning them yourself:eek:. |
