Hutchings gone
When I checked out today a new FIB had been published. Basically its a rejig of AOC post holders. Hutchings has disappeared, allegedly to spend his full time obtaining an AOC for the EDI fiasco. Mini me gets promoted to GMFO, with a rehabilitated Stevie Deverell becoming chief pilot technical.
Another reshuffle of the pack of jokers me thinks. |

Breaking news as I understand it is that if an agreement isn't reached by Dec 22nd, the deal's off!
If the deal's off, there is NO rescue plan. This disfunctional airline that we all know and love so much will close - and a lot sooner than anyone thinks - Merry Bleedin' Christmas!!! |
To be honest Mr Tifosi, does anyone really care, it just looks as if we're exchanging one raft of 'promise everything do the opposite' mis-management for another.
Remember when CitiExpress was the biggest regional airline in europe too? Anyway,quoting from Flybe's own website http://www.nextgenerationairline.com/qa.htm Will Flybe take on all BA Connect routes? Flybe will take on the majority but not all of BA Connect routes. The commercial team have worked for many months to create a new Flybe network, moulding together Flybe’s strengths and BA Connect’s strengths. This is planned to be announced by 1st January 2007. Will BA Connect aircraft continue to operate on the current rotations or be spread across the Flybe network? During the transition phase, they will operate largely as currently deployed, but then the aircraft will be deployed to a new commercial plan. The plan however has been developed to cause as little disruption to current basing as possible. Personally, if I'm to be made redundant,I'd like to know now, rather than wait and suffer the death of a thousand and one cuts. ttfn |

Had enough of that the first time, then the second time, then the third time..... can't take a few more years of indecision and displacements. Roll on 22 Dec - a totally unrealistic timescale. |

Sold short by your CC twice.:rolleyes: my brother is delighted with his 19% pay rise (yeah, I know it was 13 for jets, thats still way ahead of what most other groups get, and well above inflation.) And he does actually trust his reps to negotiate a better scheduling agreement:D

I'm not quite sure what BA Connect crews would prefer at the moment. Would they prefer to work for a regional airline which may well result in a change of base or switching aircraft, but a regional airline that still is commited to growth in the regional airline market? Or simply be closed down?
There will be difficulties with a flybe merger, but at least it's an option which will save more jobs, keep more routes operating and provide more growth opportunities than if BA Connect was simply closed. :ugh: |
Tory Canyon is quite justified at throwing teddy out of his/her pram.
The 2 pay rises in question were both heavily biased towards the Dash boys and girls and now we are left with this three year deal/mess. This is hardly a level playing field is it? In my book a pay rise should be the same across the board, otherwise you descend into the Divide and Rule/ Us and Them Chasm.:ugh: If our CC cannot sort out the basics as it stands at the moment, then gawd elp us when BACon slime their way up our seniorty list. I think I'll get a few applications in myself now as well. What with the heavily biased Ex BA/BAcon management in our upper echelons, Fly be pilots are going to be in for a rough ride and probably a bit thinner on the ground in the not too distant future. |
I suspect Baby, that the answer to most of us is a no brainer. Been made redundant once already in my career, and have no desire to go there again, thanks very much.
However, the problem chewing at both BaCon and Flybe guys and girls at the moment is that no one is being told anything.:suspect: A few hints and maybes here, a lot of speculative bull!!!!, bluster and bravado there, and hey presto, two sets of anxious parties waiting to see if this is resolved sensibly and to everyones benefit, or whether we end up with either a complete clusterf@!k of a rushed integration (pre-emptive please note:- not interested whether we define this as a merger or a take over, so don't bend my ear:= ) or even worse (for those at BaCon not already moving elsewhere) a P45 from kind old Uncle Willie for Christmas. Once we know what is actually being proposed we can all start thinking about what that means to us individually, but until that happens, be prepared for more public sole searching, angst and sleepless nights from those in both camps while our worst fears run wild. I say again this could be good long term for everyone if we can just get it rightish at the outset..... OAP |
