I'm looking at it too. I've been invited to take the Mollymawk Test so far. To be quite honest though, the package is awful. If Cargolux are going to get quality people into China, they're going to have to pay what the Chinese airlines are paying.

I've been invited to take the Mollymawk Test the 2 December ,anyone is in ? Somebody already did it? if you have any advise :-)

safelife 29th Nov 2016 12:40

Zhengzhou is a crappy place, smogged very most of the time.
And the Cargolux China thing is far from going ahead.
I wouldn't put my bet on it realizing.

highfive 30th Nov 2016 22:31

Cargolux China has stalled due to the immense bureaucracy and complexity of starting business in China.

Yes they are still going through the motions, but they've already being doung this with the DLR.

Not enough suitable pilots found already?

Nothing firm re TnCs, all smoke and mirrors.

My bet as stated 12 months ago, is it will never happen as perceived.

Ok, some update from inside. Project on hold due to regulations, CX was planning to hold 30% share but allowed only 20%, will come up with an investor for the missing ten.
Crews for the first five aircraft assessed, some of them (maybe only FOs) will fly in Luxemburg until things materialize.

If your info is really from the inside you should know that CX is Cathay Pacific
and not Cargolux.

What kind of experience are they looking for?

final06 9th Jan 2017 22:36

2019 ?

Despite comments from our CEO that the Cargolux China project is put on ice, it seems that the responsible persons are still active in a way.

However since the shareholder problem is still unsolved they have not even applied for an AOC yet.

So my optimistic guess is 2019.

T&Cs are still nonexistent. There are far better gigs available nowadays for qualified captains.

Our own F/Os are also not too interested in potential CV China command upgrade opportunities.

So, after having submitted my application to them about 6 months ago, i get a reply....a big fat "sorry your application was not successful" :D

safelife 27th Jan 2017 10:27

September 2018 is the latest estimate to get going.

final06 27th Jan 2017 18:53

:= Don't get confused:
September 2018 is the estimate for
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg
„Willy Brandt“

ExDubai 27th Jan 2017 22:25

Hmm..... I'd bet on Cargolux, not on BER.

Cargolux signs equity contract for launch of Henan Cargo Airlines ? Air Cargo News

Space Viking 6th Apr 2018 11:50

Anyone been to interview with Cargolux China? Are they still starting operation late 2018?

final06 8th Apr 2018 07:50

From a chinese point of view:
Do you see any good reason to start a cargo operation while a trade war between China and the USofIgnorance is developing at full speed?

Space Viking 8th Apr 2018 08:13

Thanks for the opinion ‘final’, not really my question though.
Anyone else..?

The Chinese will as always, be playing the Long game. A trade war will not last long.

final06 8th Apr 2018 12:59

You have to read my comment in the context of the "development" of this project up to now.
This might be just another hurdle among many others.
No CV JV flight will happen any time soon.
