SID PLATE 15th Jun 2015 14:35

Samca,

Don't worry too much about the assessment in STD.

Having an STD is not a compulsory requirement for joining RYR.

Just make sure your hold luggage is tagged correctly.

samca 15th Jun 2015 14:46

I mean STN. sorry about that :-))

silverhawk 15th Jun 2015 15:32

As always the only requirement is a fat chequebook for the course. No ability required nor questioning tendencies. Aptitude no longer required.

silverhawk 15th Jun 2015 15:36

A320 wet lease at Madrid, where else?

latetonite 15th Jun 2015 17:57

To SABCA: No, I was not joking. So a Direct Entry Pilot First Officer is one who cheats during the Tech Interview by having advanced knowledge of the questions asked?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

samca 15th Jun 2015 21:31

Oh my God, everybody who has an assestment try to know what kind of questions will have during the interview, is it a bad thing?? Came on go and speak with your neighbour about girls, football or whatever your hobbies are. You must be bored. Just for your info I'm preparing this assestment studing everyday and Training in the sim in order to do a good interview but if I can have more information I will do better don't think so?

latetonite 16th Jun 2015 07:42

Well, here is a tip for you then regarding your training for the simulator evaluation: an experienced TRI/TRE will see who you are in the first three minutes after you adjust your seat. During the remainder of the 25' flying he will assess your flying skills, CRM, situation awareness, instrument flying and problem solving capabilities.
At least here is no cheating possible. And it is almost next to impossible to train for during your 'interview preparation'.

samca 16th Jun 2015 08:27

Well, thank you for your tip. Let see what happen...

took a chance

So I took a chance and applied DEC with Ryanair....I got a phone call that day (pleasant manner, attitude, very friendly caller) and was told that I meet all the requirements etc etc BUT because I have an ICAO ALTP I could not be hired... Very sad about it and I think it is quite unfair that we with ICAO ALTP's cannot be accepted to fly in Europe. We studied the same subjects, put in the same amount of hours studying as our EU counterparts so I don't see what is the difference?? very sad

latetonite 21st Jun 2015 12:21

Well, simply cause they operate in Europe, and require an EASA license.
And no, any ICAO ATPL is not the same. I hold several ATPL's, some of them comprised a week-end crash course.

Avenger 21st Jun 2015 13:37

Stallion, apart from an ALTP? ( ATPL I guess) you need the unrestricted right to live and work in Europe..

italian stallion 21st Jun 2015 17:15

Avenger fortunately I have the right to live and work in the EU

manflexsrsrwy 21st Jun 2015 22:39

guys, any info for a mate..... whats the cadet scheme like for an experienced guy on "another type" but due to all the RYR bases on offer, is seriously considering applying down the £29000 route....will you end up being p2f or will you get a permanent contract and then the ability to move around the network etc, marriage depends upon it, so throwing the dice to see where they land....
any info is welcome and then investigated, just need a lead...thanks and much love:ok:

manflexsrsrwy 22nd Jun 2015 05:42

the only reason to apply is the basing policy, they have bases everywhere you could potentially want to live, plus its stable work, stable rosters 5 on 4 off, home every night and they pay quite well, sure you aren't an airline pilot in the conventional sense of the word but once the door is closed we are all the same, whether its a legacy carrier or a low cost , thats why

joker737 22nd Jun 2015 07:36

Any idea what's the latest pay scale for Direct entry F/O's on the RYR Contract?

And when does the upgrade process start? whats the average time to the LH?

samca 26th Jun 2015 09:51

I also would like to know the Net pay for a Direct Entry FO based in Spain. I´ve been reading in this forum all the threads but I have not clear if you choose Ryanair direct contract, whats your aprox. salary will be.
