DEP at Ryanair

I'm not a particular follower of Ryanair - but I get the impression that employing experienced FO's could be a change of their Modus Operandi and perhaps a reaction to the loss of crews to greener fields.

"Great basing opportunities - vacancies this year in Italy, Greece, Poland and Morocco plus many more for summer 2015."

mmmm........that sounds terrific, now where is the browser exit button? like saying dog poo tastes great, come and chow down.

I also see they are recruiting for permanent positions on there own website, using there own HR department. Maybe things are starting to change.

speedrestriction 17th May 2014 09:02

May appeal to guys in the regionals especially the likes of Cityjet and flybe.

Callsign Kilo 17th May 2014 11:42

Well, if this is the sign of the new DFO altering policy then good on him. However there is little doubt that his hand has been forced by attrition. Nevertheless, it would be good to see some valuable experience in the right seat, if it can be attracted. I wonder about the contracts on offer, the bond for the rating and whether that bond is tied to the base allocation. They aren't prime locations yet some might be tempted? Hopefully it will free up some opportunity for existing crew to transfer to their first choice locations. It's only fair but remains to be seen.

Under-wing mounted engine aircraft preferred
haha that's a new one :D

wondering what's next..

Coupled_To_Me 17th May 2014 14:14

On Ryanair website under 'Minimum requirements for all applicants' : A current licence on a JET in excess of 20,000 kgs.

Rules out most of flybe, Aer Arann, Logan, Eastern etc...

speedrestriction 17th May 2014 14:40

A friend in flybe told me that embraer rating no longer cuts the mustard with EK - that may convince a few to go looking for some Boeing time.

EMB-145LR 17th May 2014 16:40

Tried to apply on multiple computers and am getting an Internal Server 500 error every time.

fepilot 17th May 2014 21:27

im having the same problem error comes up when i submit the form.

Anyone have an answer to this. There is no telephone no. to call etc

multipleboogies 18th May 2014 01:22

Speedrestriction, it is not true. I'm EMB rated and I have a PSP1 for EK scheduled at the end of May.

They won't be short of takers. Boeing time and command on a 737 in a short space of time will be a big draw for many quality applicants. However make no mistake like always regardless of what they offer they will be choosy and the training is not easy by any means. If you can follow millions of SOPS to the letter, hold your own in the sim you will get through. If you can't you won't. Simple as that.

DEP at Ryanair

Does anyone have idea of the basic if being offered a Ryanair contract (not contractor)? And sector pay etc. Can you see their basing policy improving. Eg if you are a FO in STN then move to the left seat, you stay in STN?

Comm 18th May 2014 18:30

Anyone actually been able to apply via the ryanair website..?....as others keep on getting "server error".

A and C 18th May 2014 18:40

Lucky escape ?

Server error is sometimes not a bad thing !

737 Jockey 18th May 2014 19:53

Exactly... Take the hint :ok:

The Ryanair website, although a vast improvement on the original cheap nasty offering, is a good indicator of the standard to which you can expect from them. Base transfer... Server error, Summer vacation.... Server error, pay rise... Server error, treated like a human being... Server error! :}

Apply if you're desperate.... And VERY best of luck!

The reason THEY are recruiting DE, is because they are desperate! They are desperate, because so many have left, because of all the above reasons. This is a rare opportunity for Pilots to regain some ground, when it comes to T&C's. DON'T apply to Ryanair, they will be forced to change and up their game, which will in turn force NAS et al, to do the same. Wishful thinking maybe, but worth a try at least! :}

Just to add, this is all just my humble opinion etc.

Whitmoor5 18th May 2014 22:18

Me too Can't apply through the ryr website.

Hoping the terms and conditions are at least worth looking at......if I ever get past the application stage.

captplaystation 18th May 2014 22:29

In my humble opinion (obviously ) we are , very slowly, going back to 2002.

At this stage, people were leaving Easy to join Ryan, and with good reason.

There followed a (brief) period where benefits were on the up, but, note well, it WAS brief.

If we compare Orange to Blue & Yellow, there will be a scant few "long termers" on "old" Ryanair contracts, who don't wish they hadn't joined the "Orange Order" (kinda difficult I know if you are Irish :hmm: )

We will see, in due course, whether this small step towards reversing the order swells into something bigger.

As you said, any +ve movement is welcome, particularly with regard to stopping the impending deterioration in "greener pastures" (or "redder pastures" for those of us struck by Nordic colour blindness)
