There are quite a few very experienced copilots waiting for their command as we speak so I would say 3 years is an optimistic figure.
Consider 4 to 5 years and you will avoid any disappointment.

Best foot forward 13th May 2012 18:25

Time to command for those with the experience will depend on how many Captains leave, how many new acft we get, how many contract/DEC's are employed.

Try the email from ppjn, thats the one leading you direct to HR of DHL UK.
Bond is 20.000 GBP and 3 years, destinations out of LEJ are the same as for EAT. Chances? Difficult to say.
When did you do the assessment for EAT?

Not being arsey - but there's loads of stuff on pprune about DHK and associated Ts, Cs and routes etc. Use the search function?

topaky 4th Jul 2012 14:53

Any news for those who went through the DHL/UK assessment?

EAM 5th Jul 2012 14:54

What exactly do you want to know?

topaky 6th Jul 2012 00:08

Just wondering if anyone who passed the assessment got a call for their starting dates.

EAM 6th Jul 2012 07:28

passed the assessment in march, will start in september as DEC.

Hi all,

question: the requirement for first officer to speak German from at least B2 level is still valid? I can't afford yet B2 but I'm on the right way.
It seems more A300-600 will join the fleet..means more chances?

Tschuss

No German language requirement for DHK - fortunately for me. Can't answer for EAT LEJ.

Hi guys. I'm searching for current information about EAT. I applied last year through career.aero. Called the lady in Hamburg last week, according to their info no selection at the moment. Any news from inside? Will there be hiring in the near future? My current employer will most probably cease operation next year, so good chance to get unemployed :}
According to ppjn the have 9 A306 by now, and still 14 on order, can that be true? I always thought they will get 13 in total.

Thanks for any info and help!

Knee Trembler 14th Nov 2012 11:21

Hi B-B, from your ex-colleague;-).

No, sadly ppjn is incorrect. Total order is 18 aircraft. At present 14 are destined for EAT, the remaining four are still TBC but most likely to go to Hong Kong.

All recruitment / promotion is on hold pending further economic / fleet developments. A few short term contractors are training at present in order to relieve the pressure on training staff, but they are not likely to be needed beyond mid 2013.

But then that's just this week's plan and things change rapidly here;-).

Watch this space.

I see that EAT are recruiting again through career.aero, however if you have already applied it will not allow you to update or submit another application!?

This is frustrating, any ideas?!

sam92 4th Nov 2014 15:41

Does anybody have an email address for EAT/DHL for the First Officer recruitment. Career Aero website is extremely frustrating and won't allow any new applications or updating existing ones!

Any help much appreciated.

Hello all,

I have been invited to an assesment at the end of this month in Hamburg Germany with EAT. I applied via career dot aero about two years ago recently called and updated my online CV and today received an invitation.

I have a few questions that I would hope people could help me out with PM if you want.
The assesment is extremely tough I hear,DLR test by interpersonel! how can you best prepare for this test? ant how hard is it really? I failed a compass test in the past, but no prep.

what does an FO take home every month I have 1400 hrs and about 900 737 cassic.

Is commuting still completely impossible I live in the UK but would happily pay an airfare home.

are all new FO's starting on the A300? I would be 50/50 about taking this type as there are very little opportunities to work on this type and with command being 11 years.....

also where do most pilots live while in leipzig is it a nice city?

also a break down of the interview would really be greatly appreciated

EAT

Hello all,
here just a few tips for EAT:
- an F/O takes home 4000-5000€ (before tax!) a month. Not the best, but you start on a widebody and you're in Europe. In Germany, the company is after LH, TUI or Condor one of the best options you can choose!

- Communting is hard, but people do it. Everything up to 3-4h by Car is possible. Many of the new hires moved to Leipzig, not the worst city to live in.

- you have standby60 and standby airport, which means you have to have an apartment nearby. Many people share them.. A few people also live in Berlin, and depending were you live, you can make it in 90min to LEJ.

- you do yourself a favor (a very big one!!!) by saying during the interview, that you want to move to Leipzig. They can choose between a huge variety of pilots.

- not all the new hires come to the 300, some go to the 57. But, I would prefer the 300 and youŽll like it.

- Roster: different from fleet to fleet, but you can expect on the 300 7on/7off. It is true, that you make only 300h a year. You have a lot of night flying. You fly flights in Europe, but there is also one A300 right now in Bahrain (although you can say no to these OPS, people do it).

Good morning,

Just got an invitation for the assessment next week Monday. Short notice-well but ok. Somebody recently attended the assessment and can write me a short review?
Thanks in advance

mesh 17th Nov 2014 10:13

What hours etc do you have?

Joons31 17th Nov 2014 10:20

Typical low hour. 250 hrs MCC/JOC. German

Scott_T 18th Nov 2014 00:25

@lowpassglider

How can commuting be difficult if the roster is 7 on 7 off? that would in my opinion make commuting very very easy... unless there are a few sbys added in to those 7 off, I have an interview monday I have jet experience, could you please send me on any tips for the interview? I would really appreciate it
