the only way to stop this is to make a law against it....otherwise its gonna keep on happening weather people like it or not.
Im sure there was big uproar when people started to self sponsor type ratings and now its the norm. So now people are going that extra step and paying for line training. I feel that will become the new norm. You cant blame the airlines- they are a business after all You cant blame companies such as Eagle Jet, again a business You cant blame the noobs - they just want to get an edge(they think its an edge) anyway they can. If the CAA like Brazil put a regulation in place stating that a person cannot paying to fly when the flight is carrying fee paying passengers/cargo and the company is making money from it, then problem would be solved. People who go on and on about Mummy and Daddy paying are just jealous cuz given the opportunity of their parents paying for this sort of training 9 out of ten would do it Times are changing and I feel nothing is gonna happen to stop it so we all might as well get used to it. |
Crying for the regulators to put a stop to this is unnecessary and crying for wannabees to not sign up is futile.
It has to be pilot corps/union led. At the risk of (yet again!) repeating myself, ask yourself the following question: why don't BA, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM or any other major airline have these kind of scams/schemes? Why don't those crews have to nickle and dime about crew food, contract pilots, Direct Entry Captains, a car parking pass, or a bottle of water? The answer is clear: most low-cost pilots didn't have the foresight or backbone for a long term strategy. As a matter of fact, many turned a blind eye to this divide and conquer strategy during the good years and their loyalty was easily (and cheaply!) bought by a quick upgrade or joining as DEC's. Now I'm afraid it's time to pay the piper! :ugh: |
It won't be Union led because they've already stated that "it's nothing to do with us, guv."
Nothing much else seems to have changed either... |
Doug The Head,
Why are the leaders of BA, Lufthansa, Air France, KLM screaming from the rooftops that they are hemorrhaging red ink and fighting for the very lives of their companies? It's only a matter of time before they follow the LoCo lead and Lufthansa is in fact already doing PTF since they own BMI. |
Adios, actually the names you're calling are back in the black, or on the verge of it. You're assuming making profits takes screwing people. That is SO wrong !
|
After all, if EZ pilots can't be bothered with good T&Cs and don't mind being shafted in the near future, why bother ?
They just seem to be fine with all that's happening at the moment. Any normal airline would be grounded and management kicked out in a loud bang by their boards of directors because of their lack of competence. Easyjet ? Noooooo, at easy, pilots just seem to like it or they're just ****ting in their pants, who knows, I still need to find out... It's a good thing we're not having to go to war. This would be an army of deserters. No pride. No guts. They'll get what they deserve. |

It's only a matter of time before they follow the LoCo lead and Lufthansa is in fact already doing PTF since they own BMI. That being said, it is clear why MOL and AH are not seing any "green shoots" while most other airlines do. It's slightly worrying too... |
To anyone in easyJet:
Are your crew council doing anything to stop this scheme as well as the proposed Parc contract that has apparently been offered to some ex Midland guys? I get the feeling it could well be 'too little too late'? |
The best way to stop the scheme is for nobody to take it, however that is very unlikely given the current employment opportunities elsewhere.
I'm not sure what the easyJet CC to do. They would end up backed into a corner and having to call for a strike ballot. How many of the current workforce do you think would walk out? And yet it's all Balpa's and the eJ CC's fault for letting it happen. This is purely the economics of supply and demand and something I would not don my donkey jacket for. |
Easyjet ? Noooooo, at easy, pilots just seem to like it or they're just ****ting in their pants, who knows, I still need to find out... A - is correct B - is correct C - Both are correct D - None of them are correct This is definitely a C case :ok: |

What's wrong with calling for a strike ballot when things are going so bad ? I think many would walk out given the trend all this is leading us to. How many ? Who knows... If you don't act towards industrial action in today's case, when will you ? |
FRying, let me get this straight - you think that I would/should go on strike because a few idiots are going to pay £35k to get up at 4am and spend 10 hours+ in an orange metal tube for 5 days in a row? If that's what they want to do, who am I to stop them?!
|
Careful now guys, take it from me it isn't worth calling them idiots or all of the left wing will attack you for it. Perhaps they would prefer if we called them people with mental disabilities or special needs.
|
Just like you then Beak
|
Ummmm......Yah.:}
|
It's all a bit of a shame. I used to regard EZY as a 'career' airline. Clearly thats not the case any more (at least not for new joiners.)
Very sad state of affairs. |
If you don't act towards industrial action in today's case, when will you ? |
From my friends in easyJet, there does seem to be immense goodwill still being displayed by a number of crew towards the company. Skippers refusing to exercise discretion could have added significant disruption during the recent spell of bad weather. Sounds like you Orange drivers are being far too kind! |
Orange Peel you fool!!!
Why do you feel you owe your management/shareholders anything? They pay you to move aircraft, they feel nothing for you. They will dump/shaft you at the drop of a hat. They expect you to go "that extra mile" for the company but will screw you over to boost their bonus. Whilst fools like you continue to prop up the company things will continue to get worse for the aircrew. NOB |
The other way of looking at it is that if we hadn't exercised discretion a lot of our customers would have been stuck over the festive period. The very people who pay our salaries..... |
