Many thanx Nearly. I had read the ppjn link, wasnt sure if there was anything more uptodate.

FO start pay 33k regardless of frozen or unfrozen??

:ugh:

Mungo Man 21st Dec 2008 22:42

Start pay is more than that now, 33k was last year. Will hopefully go up again in April 09 if they honour the pay deal. Not that there's much chance of getting into bmir at the moment as redundancies are being rumoured as work dries up and aircraft leases expire...

and yes, FO pay is the same regardless of ATPL temperature.

Deep and fast 22nd Dec 2008 10:31

£36,434 year one fo from April next year with the new pay rise, but don't expect much of an increase after that until the industry picks up!

Mungo Man 23rd Dec 2008 19:48

Jenson Button 24th Dec 2008 09:03

but at the same time don't forget to add commuting costs, cos you might not get to your preferred base for a good six months or so.....:{:{:{

Private health care, pension and concessionary travel aren't to be sniffed at. That little package is worth a few quid in itself. There are far worse jobs out there.

flying macaco 24th Dec 2008 10:28

Well said, it sounds far better than redundancy...!

I'd fly for sprouts at the moment...!

Merry Xmas & hope to be with you in 09.

Jimjetter 29th Dec 2008 17:03

Many thanks to one and all. having recently lost my job, it will be a paycut and wot with having to pay for TR, however as listed there are bonuses, and a jobs better than my current conditions!!:D

Cheers, Happy New Year (hopefully)

woofly31 31st Dec 2008 15:55

Any Further news from within bmir regarding the future of the operation? Thread on Airlines and Airports suggesting the 145s being pulled out of LHR?

Hope its a Happy New Year :ok:

embraerFObmi 1st Jan 2009 18:52

yes aircraft are being pulled out of LHR, and possibly getting rid of 2 aircraft when the expensive leases expire and possible redundancies as a result. needless to say no recrutiment at the moment. will be a bumpy 2009 me thinks.

good luck everyone.

stop, stop, stop 2nd Jan 2009 12:25

Yes, 2 aircraft are to leave LHR.

Most likely 2 Aircraft leases not to be renewed this year....... but seeing as the 145's can be bought 2 for the price of 1 at the moment I would expect a cheque to be written to 're-acquire' the same aircraft! I think the talk of redundancies is jumping the gun a little.

Many rumors of German routes from Leeds, Manchester and few others as well as operating the LHR feeders from the 'outstations.'

Noone knows what 2009 will bring....but many of us are still remaining optimistic for the future.

Any of you guys applying for jobs.....I wouldn't give up hope of movement this year, the Regional/Business market seems to be the most stable of any in these uncertain times.

Thanks SSS. Nice to have a glimmer of hope in these dark times!

bmi regional

What are the typical ts and cs?

With the Lufthansa take over a few days off, any new rumours starting to filter out. Or is it all still an unknown plan of action. If the 2 acft go back, would the 2 acft that were due last year before the big freeze arrive in their place if that is a cheaper option. Are there many guys at bmir waiting in the BA / Easy / Monarch or other Hold pools ? I hope its a good new year for bmir:ok:

Im afraid that the guessing game may go on for a while longer. The general word around mainline and the BMI forum on prune is that Lufthansa wont be taking over until March at the earliest due to them being in final stages of the Austrian deal.

Plod 22nd Jan 2009 15:55

It looks like we'll be treading water for a little while longer. No news expected for those of us in the hold pool until late February at the ealiest. The only good news is there are no rumours of the pool being closed down. I've been waiting since Feb 2007, Anyone been waiting longer?

Jenson Button 19th Feb 2009 12:03

Maybe its worth sending the BBC an email so that they can ask NT during his interviews with Working Lunch tomorrow !!!

Doesn't sound like a rumour anymore

woofly31 23rd Feb 2009 11:57

With the changes to the Bmi Mainline network regarding the Leeds and Teeside routes being axed along with Jersey. Which bases are these spare Regional Aircraft and crew going to? How many 145's are being used for the Brussels route when it changes, will one night stop in EBBR?

stop, stop, stop 25th Feb 2009 05:46

Not surprisingly, management are being a bit quiet on the true facts of the Regional summer schedual...though we do only have fours weeks left!

Best guess is:

2 a/c based in LHR crewed with secondments and LBA crew. (HAN and ???)
2 a/c to go in ABZ crewed with ABZ crew, (LHR and BHX)
1 a/c based in BRU crewed with LBA crew. (LHR)

ABZ based severely UNDERcrewed...LBA based severely OVERcrewed! All other bases seem to be around the correct number.

Anyone else?

woofly31 25th Feb 2009 12:56

Any rumours of the so called expansion of routes at LBA as mention in the recent press articles?

galleypower 26th Feb 2009 19:07

T & Cs

Also heard the rumour that LBA is overcrewed. The fact that the bus is too large for many routes, helps bmir. Good luck to ya all. As a tip: More t&c's for bmir can be found here.

AngryBaby 28th Feb 2009 10:43

bmi regional

No recruitment for 2009 by the looks of it.

Flight deck across the board will crewed to optimum numbers this year.

woofly31 8th Apr 2009 10:49

Any news or rumour regarding Bmi regional and Lufthansa. Things have gone very quiet regarding the take over and future direction of the company. Guys talking about Mainline having wanted more Aircraft for Heathrow than regional had avaliable. Any crew leaving for bigger things, what little there is out there at the mo?:ok:

LKMflyboy 13th Aug 2009 14:25

Winter schedule

Anyone got any thoughts on the winter schedule yet? It seems likely that mainline will reduce their requirement for EMB's, possibly down to 3 units. With frequencies being reduced on many regional routes already, will the company take the plunge and cut under-performing routes altogether? If so, what will be the impact on the workforce?

BIGBAD 14th Aug 2009 21:17

what are you basing your assumption on that mainline will reduce it's requirement for EMB's ?

bilderberger 16th Aug 2009 16:23

gangster tactics

just heard that the tupe lot were threatened not to go ahead with tribunal .
bmi said they would win in court and destroy everyone with damages claims
they stated "we have already got 100 grand out of ex employees"
what a company to work for
no wonder some of their pilots look like lester piggott after his short stay in her majesty's guest house.:(
life at the bbc "bilderberger corporation"is much easier:ok:

Deep and fast 16th Aug 2009 17:50

Ah burger I wondered where you went. I missed the rantings of a madman. Tupe never really applied in this situation. if they feel differently they could chance their arm!!

As for Lester P I don't feel like I've had a greasing!

And the moaners on this board give Ryanair a hard time!!!!

woofly31 17th Aug 2009 09:45

Back to the topic.....

Whats the rumours of future size and shape at bmi/bmir. Have Lufty given any indication at all of their future intentions for the company. Is there going to be a downsize in the fleet this winter? Are people looking at staying put for the long term. Any retirements, movers to the UAE or Cathy as the UK food chain has come to a grinding halt?:ok:

Deep and fast 17th Aug 2009 11:37

Stagnation would be a good word m8

D and F

bilderberger 23rd Aug 2009 13:49

stagnation

thats the wrong word
net jets has just booted 100 out
bmi and many others others are down sizing
as far as flying goes the downturn has'nt reached it yet
swimmers "add 10 years"
and for many others "take photo's of the flight deck now"
it's good for the memories album
by the way "tupe" did apply at bmi.
and for all the wannabe's
sorry sonny but you hav'nt got what it takes
third generation double glazing has arrived and if you can convince yourself your gonna be a sky god then you can sell anything!:ok:

woofly31 28th Aug 2009 09:30

Any further developments at Regional with regards to the winter program, next Summer, contract flying and the future of the company? Some talk on the Baby thread of a possible need for two extra units taking them to 19 acft. :ok:

AngryBaby 28th Aug 2009 12:30

Not sure, but I would hope to see steady loads throughout the winter! The airline is busy at the moment with scheduled and charter. We keep our fingers crossed for the future and hope to see some new blood on board eventually.

Good rumour about baby, hopefully they can keep steaming along too!

Good luck!

VFE 28th Aug 2009 12:53

Anyone else recently receive an email from BMIR requesting applications? Requirements being only 500hrs TT! Seems surprising given the content of this thread....

VFE.

Better to remain... 30th Aug 2009 07:37

VFE,

Can I take it from your post that you did, just recieve an e-mail from regional asking to you make an application? Or update your old one?

Who did it come from HR, or an individual?

This could be very positive as a potential top up, should some in the pool need to depart for a course shortly :}

Oh, allowing myself to think something positive regarding regional and getting a job, I dont think I will ever learn :{

VFE, I look forward to hearing from you

BRS

irishone 30th Aug 2009 09:07

I got the same, and I have less than 500TT. So I assume it was a general email that went out to everyone.
