Monarch Recruitment

Does anyone have any information regarding dates and numbers for Monarch recruitment this summer?

TVM :ok:

edward england 28th May 2008 19:11

Sorry, meant recruitment this summer for jobs starting next year. However, you've answered that too - thanks.

chickenstrips 28th Aug 2008 12:55

Hi all.

Does anyone within have an update to the info above?

I’ve looked at the website and it doesn’t allude to much more!

Thanks in advance.

:ok:

steve757 29th Aug 2008 14:43

latest internal rumour is approx 20 new first officers required for winter training. Worth a chat with the CP.

Solent Trout 11th Sep 2008 18:39

Anyone actually been called up, having submitted an online profile?

Bail out 11th Sep 2008 19:23

Lots of changes on the horizon over the next 6 months as we restructure the fleets and so on.

4 x 757 will go over this winter period with rumours of 0 - 4 replacements. Apparently we have plenty of medium haul charter work for next summer which would justify maintaining a larger 75 fleet ( fingers crossed ).

I have spoken to the training department this week to discuss airbus courses, possible fleet changes etc and they have what looks like 3 Airbus courses pencilled in over the winter training programme.

So I would suggest anyone who fit’s the Monarch experience criteria to do some research on the company and send CV’s to the CP.

After all you have to be in to win it!

Best of luck.[/SIZE]

eagle21 14th Sep 2008 13:08

Could anyone working at Monarch gives us a mode teailed insight into this rumours?

Thanks

Easy Ryder 14th Sep 2008 14:06

Yeah 70 odd new hires sounds like a complete load of ****e!

Other than that 20 is the standard goss going around, but that depends on the 757 replacements, and any additional aircraft (if any).

All us FBW bods are hoping we pick up a 330 or 2 but thats just a bunch of desperate people including myself hoping to get onto the beach fleet. Nothings set in stone as yet.

But the way whats a 'confirmed rumour'??

pilot_wood 15th Sep 2008 11:07

Monarch holding pool

Just wondered if any of you are currently bobbing up and down in the holding pool, if so for how long for ?

Does anyone know how many are in the pool? etc...

Easy Ryder 15th Sep 2008 13:07

Fox Hat man,

If the engineers are saying that, its probably true as they strangely enough are the first to know such matters. I have heard the 2 757s and 2 321s as well, not the 330 one as yet. But if true... Woo Hoo a week in Maldives, Goa, Calgary, Orlando, Cancun oh my im salivating! :}

HmmmgoodOJ 15th Sep 2008 16:35

Been in pool since June 07, was called a few weeks ago asking if I was still interested in a position. Courses early next year I was told, not given any other info, types etc.

SpamFritters 19th Sep 2008 15:59

Hi All,
I know the min hours needed are 2500 normally.. but would monarch consider taking low houred pilots other than from CTC or is it not even worth spending time thinking about it... ?

Thanks

chai ja 19th Sep 2008 16:11

1500 hours jet or turboprop and you might get a look in. I think it helps if you know somebody too from what I have seen.;)

SpamFritters 19th Sep 2008 16:14

Well I have a family member who is a Captain in Monarch..
Just need the hours now then..... :}

bjet 19th Sep 2008 22:56

What about 76 drivers for the next season? Have about 1500 on 75 and 500 on the 76. Are they in a position to choose from vast number of those, bear in mind the latest belly ups.

mudcity 20th Sep 2008 07:23

The current rumour is that there are around 20/30 people who are in the holdpool with the aim of running courses in jan/feb, this is without any additional airplanes which Mon may get for any ex excel work . Suggest if you are interested get you c.v onto the system via the website and if you know someone in spotty m who would recommend you then get them to flag up your c.v internally.

fatboy slim 20th Sep 2008 18:28

for bjet: you need TT2500hrs which you may well have, and you would not be recuited directly onto the 767 if sucessful, 757 until your place in seniority came up for mixed fleet flying. As previous posters have mentioned - a personal recommend goes a long way at Monarch.

gunka 21st Sep 2008 11:35

The recommendation may be more important than the total time as i know of people with considerably less than 2000hrs being successful recently so don't let the 2500 minimum put you off if you have someone on the inside

orangesky 21st Sep 2008 16:05

personal recommendations may help, but there are some captains who cant even get their sons an interview ?!?!? and some of their sons are already type rated .... as with most airlines 2,500TT is an ideal, but dont let that put you off.

Mintflavour 24th Sep 2008 22:03

I think Recruitment at Monarch is still anybody's guess.
The 2 new 75's still not confirmed even though they want them and with 3 (I believe) going in November = temporary fleet reduction. I think the 330 rumour was talk of picking one up from XL's demise but did not pull off.
The CTC cadets who started last spring still don't know if they are going to get a permanent contract at the end of the summer season. :{

Time will tell.

qwertyuiop 25th Sep 2008 10:01

I think mintflavour sumed it up well. The 757 fleet size is actually going down by 4 over the winter.

Sempre Volando 25th Sep 2008 10:03

Can any Monarch pilots tell me if the new salary scales on PPJN are correct? How long before CCQ's onto the 330 as well.............

Tight Seat 25th Sep 2008 10:09

Add about 5.7% to the ppjn numbers to get this years pay rates. As for the 330, 3-4 years. But it all can change very quickly ( good and bad).

Instinct 25th Sep 2008 10:58

A321?

Thanks Mintflavour and the rest. I've heard the (more or less confirmed) rumours about the 757's. However, you don't mention the A321's there's been talks about? A couple of months back I heard you were getting one, about one month ago I heard 4 (replacing the 757's)!
Any news on them?

Instinct

Easy Ryder 25th Sep 2008 10:59

330

I would say more like 15-20 yrs as any new joiner and probably a good bunch that have joined in the last year or so would get there commands well before they ever see the 330. There's that many waiting on the seniority list.

As tight seat suggests 1 or 2 new airframes would change all that. But MON has been unsuccessful in acquiring the XL ones so it will be interesting to see if/where they find any.

Instinct - Officially 4 757's go in Nov. Hoping to source 2x757 and 2x321 to replace. Any more than that is unknown.

Tight Seat 25th Sep 2008 11:26

Easy Ryder- maybe 3-4 was a bit quick. That seniority list hasn't half filled up since my arrival! I think you may be right about the command before 330 thing too.

The reason I joined Monarch was for a long term, stable airline job. Shorthaul is fun. The people you work with are 2nd to none, the aircraft are looked after by in house (fantastic) engineers.. oh and they pay up on the time everytime. Dont join M for the 330, join for a good safe job,,,, the beachfleet will just be the cherry on the top.

Sempre Volando 25th Sep 2008 13:40

What is a typical roster like short-haul? Days off etc, patterns.

adwjenk 25th Sep 2008 15:43

Hi,

How long is the wait for command in Monarch???

Thanks

CEJM 25th Sep 2008 17:05

adwjenk,

How long is a piece of string?

Impossible to say how long time to command will be. Depends on what the company is doing in the next few years i.e. expansion or not etc. But wouldn't be surprised if it goes up to between 7 and 10 years.

adwjenk 25th Sep 2008 21:19

Good point just wondering, still seems like a command in Monarch is well worth the wait from what I have heard.

Thanks

ATIS 28th Sep 2008 11:19

The latest commanders who were promoted this summer have been in the company for approx 3.5 years. Very lucky chaps who leap frogged over a bunch of CTC guys who haven't quite got the hours yet.

However with little expansion next year there prob won't be too many commands next year. Therefore CTC guys will catch up pretty quick. 4000hrs required at Monarch for command. After that I reckon time to command will drop to about 5-6 years.

However, as someone has already stated things can change at the drop of the hat, and so you could bin everything I've just written.

My experience at Monarch. Currently an F/O, not the best payers in the industry, but I have a LIFE. I'm on 320/330 so can't complain. Great bunch of people to work with. I must admit that Captains do work a lot harder than us.

3REDS 29th Sep 2008 18:23

Has anybody got contact details for the people in the know at Monarch my CV is burning a hole in my pocket.:ugh:
Please PM me with the details....

Thanks in advance

DVR4G.DEP 9th Oct 2008 09:32

Any news if interviews may be planned this year?

GONE FLYING 15th Oct 2008 11:39

Anybody been called up yet out of the hold pool for courses next year yet .And does anybody know what the forthcoming recruitement is planned for next year.:hmm:

Mintflavour 17th Oct 2008 15:08

:{ The CTC guys are not being kept on............. gutted.

So guess future recruitment for Monarch is still anyones guess.

mint

mesh 17th Oct 2008 17:26

looks like the CTC guys would be the first to be given the jobs. The current interviews is for hold pool purposes only, they have no courses planned at present for new guys next year. Theory is that we need a pool just in case things turn around quickly....but not looking likely given current market

2604 19th Sep 2009 14:09

Contact

Has anybody got any infos as to who and how I should send a CV (as their online application does not seem to be working) please?

I'm rated on the A306 and wouldn't mind joining any swimmers in the pool. If there is still a pool.

Thanks a lot

quazz 19th Sep 2009 14:51

It's not that the online application is not working, they have just removed it from the website for the time being. Unfortunately I think thats your answer
