Project Lauren interview
Has anyone been to an interview yet, that could give a heads up. I have mine in ten days time at LHR. Thanks guys/gals!

Good luck with the interview tflier - you are aware that there is a stand off between BA pilots and BA management over this. Could very well get nasty - that's of course if PL is signed off by the board of BA. Don't hand in your notice yet!

Was approved finally by the BA board on monday-according to mate of ours who is on the 757 course now..apparantly they are really keen to hear exactly why you want to join at the interview..
|
Is there still no solution between BALPA and BA management about this?
"mate of ours who is on the 757 course now" |
"Has Project Lauren started training 757 pilots?"
not at cranebank as far as i can gather

Interview / Any News
Dear All,
@tflier, would anybody be so kind and give brief note on the selection process for OpenSkies/Project Lauren, e.g.: - type of interviews beeing used? - sim-screenings - group exercises - type of technical interviews etc. Is the selection similar to the BA Mainline or different? Looking forward to your help! |
As far as I'm aware, an agreement between BA and BALPA has most definitely NOT been reached.........The BACC should be announcing their position v shortly. I presume you guys have been following the other threads on PL/OS? There is a huge amount of anger and concern amongst the BA pilots.......could get v messy.........be warned at what you are potentially getting yourselves involved in!!!!!!!
|
@sidtheesexist: I dont care at all about any BALPA or something else OpenSkies maybe just a new job experience for me.
Is there anybody, that can offer help or has experience with the selection process? |
payoo
Being French which is I assume is what you are should make this simple. New job or not BALPA (The big pilots union at BA) is not finished with BA over who/when/where/how these jets will be crewed. Good luck with the selection but to be honest you are better off to apply to BA directly as many guys from Europe do and avoid the headache that may arise from your goal of working for this start up. Trouble is brewing and better off to avoid it if you ask me. I think a a few BA pilots may agree. :ok::ok::ok: |
I absolutely agree.
|
Does anyone have an idea what to expect? Thanks!
|
Have any of you seen the pay and conditions offered? I cannot see at all why anyone would want to work for this outfit....why not just apply to ba mainline and if you don't get in, try again next year?
As an FO you would even be better off at one of the charters, with the added benefit of not having to go back and forward across the Atlantic every week. Looking at the Captains terms, they look fairly similar to every other charter out there. Is joining this fragile startup really worth the risk at the moment, what with all the potential industrial action planned? |
TWELVE Atlantic crossings in a clapped out 757 in 26 days!!
WOW! No wonder BA are proud to claim they are recruiting from a "different pool" to their own recruits. People with " Different Technical ability, psychological makeup, and different number/analytical skills." No **** Sherlock! |
Do they have a web site that mentions the T & C's along with an application page?
|
If people are willing to consider it then that's up to them. Those going for interview are fully aware of the terms and conditions - maybe if they're still willing to consider it actually suits them!?
As far as the clapped out 757's etc are concerned - you should be grateful that BA have looked elsewhere for their pilots after all.:ok: MD |
At least "clapped out 757s" have engines that don't "auto shut down" on short finals!!!:E:E:E

Info about T&C and selection are on above topic. '...after careful consideration ... you were not successful on this occasion...' Letter was posted to correct name and address but wrong country!! Very careful consideration. Succes |
Where do I apply to Open skies?
|
Can I draw your attention to the IFALPA Recruitment ban now in place for Open Skies.
You will not be doing yourself any favours whatsoever by applying to Open Skies at the moment. http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/2...tbanbaorl0.jpg |
Well said Dave.
