So how is life at good old flybe? You guys miss me? :p

I well remember those two clowns on the Dash fleet who were playing silly buggers in the sim. Chopped a lot of people for purely personal reasons... completely unprofessional. Hope they haven't wormed their way back into training.

Anyway, never mind all that, how's life with you guys? Anyone flown the new jet yet?

Raw Data 15th Aug 2006 09:13

Strange thing was that they were both pretty good F/O's, the power must have gone to their heads... or maybe that took lessons from that other tyrannical turboprop trainer, PE. In fact the turboprop fleet seems to have had more than it's fair share of muppets with "small man" syndrome.

One of the reasons I didn't want to go onto the Dash - at the time, the training department was a complete shambles. The Fleet Manager was a great guy though, and a very sad loss.

carlos vandango 15th Aug 2006 10:15

I had a great time with PE albeit on the flying clog. Was sorry to hear he'd gone of the rails a while ago. Is he still there?

A pay rise
Oh ha ha ha ha ha...... dream on, lads... := := :ugh:

For AUG one initial course (Capt & FO) in SEA and one in ARN
In SEP don't have the big picture, but I'll be running one in ARN With more to follow as more TRI's are coming though the TRI sausage machine (and reducing the trainer shortage)

Raw Data 15th Aug 2006 15:33

Hmmm, maybe I should come back and put the old TRI to good use! I kinda miss the BHX crewroom... such good coffee... :}

Smokie 15th Aug 2006 17:35

PE!! ????
If it is the Same PE from Down Under, then I can't say I have ever had any Prolems with him. OK guy in my Book.:ok:

ortac2w 15th Aug 2006 19:35

I think the PE you are talking about is a different one, he's the nice guy in BHD.

MercenaryAli 15th Aug 2006 21:02

Full story

Apparently the idividual concerned was so poor on line training, unable to setup the nav, that he was returned for "remedial training" - but still not chopped! Are they THAT short of bums in seats? :ooh:

angelorange 15th Aug 2006 23:03

OK so what has changed in terms of Ts and Cs with Flybe?

I hear the bond is now 13,500 GBP non -reducing for 3 years? Is this an industry first? A square bond?

What is the likelyhood of command if you join with over 1200 hrs MCC/turboprop and a command recommendation?

Raw Data 16th Aug 2006 00:07

Smokie

The PE we are talking about was the vertically challenged ex-Base Captain of Leeds.

It used to take two to three days to calm down new recruits when they got to line training, such was their simulator experience...

EGCC4284 16th Aug 2006 00:14

non -reducing for 3 years?
???????????????????????????????????????????

vulcanite 16th Aug 2006 06:46

The vertically challenged TRE (not PE), did indeed fail folk for being one knot below V2. And if you went through the accel alt on the V1 cut scenario (400' at the time), he wanted you to go back down to 400' before you accelerated.
I've personally never had a problem with PE, though perhaps he is affected by the phases of the moon.
T'other one's still there, though a lot more relaxed now...and no, he still hasn't any jet time, though he must be mighty close by now.
RD, your coffee machine is still in EDI, though looked a bit sorry for itself, last time I saw it...and what you doing on here? Running out of money?:=

Raw Data 16th Aug 2006 09:43

Ah, the old EDI coffee machine... I miss the the old girl! :)

I still read here a bit, haven't posted for ages. Been too busy starting companies and doing other fun stuff... but I'm missing flying a bit, so currently looking for some contract work. Who knows, I might be back in Euroland for a while! :D :D

Hmmm,
Smaller the plane...bigger the ego quite often,my mate used to work for BACON and there were some 'gods' there,

Must be frustration at flying the dash or some sort of willy defienciency...

Nil further 17th Aug 2006 17:02

Re failing for 1 knot below V2 on the eng fail profile , you would need to get the definitive answer from a TRE but i believe it is a mandatory item , allowing the speed to decay below V2 is a real serious matter , especially an a swept wing aeroplane .

Have seen a couple of guys being asked to repeat the SE profile in my current mob (EZY) for doing the same thing . Both the TRE's were total gents , this item however was non negotiable .

Kak Klaxon 17th Aug 2006 20:06

Speed must never be below V2 on one donk, nil further you are correct.

Loop... Hole 17th Aug 2006 23:37

I have heard that the aformentioned PE is no longer gainfully flybing

Don't bet on it. Current thinking is that 40+ sectors is a ridiculous amount, and it should be 30. And yes, they will give very serious consideration to failing those who require anything extra.

I'll let you make up your own minds of the wisdom of that course of action.
