Privatair
Does anyone know if Privatair crews its pilots from Lufthansa's seniority list or if indeed they are currently recruiting pilots?
And if they are recruiting pilots, what is the the general package like, pay, time off perks and so on.
Thanks in advance.

NigelOnDraft is reflecting on the PrivatAir organisation 10 years ago (PetrolAir).
PrivatAir today employ over 150 pilots in their GVA, XFW, DUS and MUC bases.
DUS is primarially ex SN pilots, XFW a European mix, MUC seconded LH pilots and GVA a mix of Swiss nationals and Brits, of which only 2 are ex BA.
Cannot help Prim 1 with pay and conditions, but they are expanding rapidly ( fleet doubled in size this year ) against long term contracts with the quality players.
Flying is a truly varied mix of long haul A319LR/B737BBJ , short haul A319, and VVIP anywhere from London to Australia in the B737BBJ.
Currently thay fly across the Atlantic 36 times a week for LH.
The wesite is www.privatair.com and [email protected] got an immediate response.

Any idea how long the seconded Lufthansa pilots will be there? Which aircraft do the Lufthansa guys fly - A319 or BBJ? Will there be a need for replacements soon?
Looks like a great operation to fly for - those SN guys are lucky to have good jobs...
Cheers

The Lufthansa Pilots are currently flying the BBJ out of MUC. There will not be any replacements fo those soon.
Currently there is a discussion to replace the pilots on all LH fligths operated by PrivatAir with LH pilots.

I have always been fascinated by Privatair. So, if the Lufthansa pilots are flying the BBJ out of Munich (presumably on the airline service), then who gets to fly the BBJ on worldwide charter assignments - are there "separate" BBJ pilots who mainly fly charter, or do the Lufthansa pilots also get to fly that bird worldwide?
What about the A319 - are those airplanes flown primarily by ex-Sabena pilots or did some of the former BBJ pilots switch over to the Airbus?
Cheers

There are no plas to replace PTI pilots with LH pilots.
PrivatAir welcome partnerships but will not accept 100% customer flightdeck, however professional they may be.
You will see the recruitment campaign on their website

I'm sure there are no plans at PTI to replace PTI pilots with LH pilots. But at LH the pilots representatives demand that the LH flights operated by PTI should be crewed with LH pilots - as already happende with the flights out of MUC.
So as I understand that concerns only the DUS-NWR and DUS-ORD flights. As far as I know the flights are more or less a test if this 'premium product' is accepted by the customers. If it proofs to be profitable, LH had and still has plans to operate those flights with own crews and aircraft.
Those are the plans. Nobody knows if that will really happen, since LH would have to buy some aircraft first to do that job.
