My advice is: Stay away for now. Place is in turmoil. Lots of very unhappy pilots and cabin crew here. Wait until the dust settles

Almeida,

I think the question you have to ask yourself is, what are my long term plans?. If your going there as a Expat looking for a career, wrong place, if your going there just to stay current, earn tax free money for a couple of years and then return home when the market picks up, not a bad place to be.

You will never see a command, in fact, Secong officers that are doing their training now will get a command before you will. The VPO told a group of pilots recently that upgrades were to be done from within the company which gave hope to not only local pilots but expats. If you check there website they are looking for A340 first officers and captains. I do not think the employees can believe anything management say. So take what you will from what i have just written.

Regards
Ex330

Used to work for GF, left frustrated and I probably still am.

Working for GF means you have the priveledge to fly to warzone destinations e.g. Kuwait, Iran, Jordany during the war on Iraq.
Terrorist sensitive areas such as Saudi Arabia, Kenia, Tanzania, Zanzibar, London and Casablanca and ofcourse the SARS infected countries.

One of the requirements is that you accept this priveledge.
Another requirement is that you "shut up and do everything we tell you to do, or else....."

Abuse of their employees is more than normal.
No way I would return to this airline with such an immoral attitude.

And do not forget the tensions in the area.

Don't go there unless you're extremely desperate or working for Qatar Airways.

You can probably find more about them at the Middle East forum.

Good luck

Dear fellows,

What is the package (moneywise) offered to 767 DECs?
Are they actively recruiting?

Alladin,

'Terrorist sensitive areas such as London............'

Get real, you cannot be seriously comparing London with Saudi???
