Thumbs up Now Airlines - Simulator

Did my interview with Now Airlines at luton the other day, very nice professional bunch I felt. Office full of people all very pleasant and welcomming. Got my simulator assessment next week at Heathrow. Anyone know what the assessment consists of? Is it in a 737?

Has anyone now done their simulator?

Start date has been earmarked as 28 July but I think this will be pushing it.

Idunno,

I did ask what the simulator would consist of, but they were not giving much away. I understand cabin crew selection is about to start.

I don't see what is "strange" about the response you have received, seems clear enough to me. Hope I don't get a similar one though !

They are now only accepting pilot applications from those who have a current 737 type rating. If you're not current on the 737, forget it.

Well, I don't think they can afford to only accept type rated guys who are recent. There must be very few of them about looking for jobs. I am rated and current, but the salary is not exactly competitive I feel, so I am off to somewhere else. Jet2 had quite a few problems getting the rated people, let alone current ones!! Wish them luck.

I am not sure about the terms and conditions:

Is £34500 the going rate for a 737 FO?

Should there be a large slug of sector pay on top of this?

I am having my doubts to be honest......

Considering that GSS start a 744 F/O on £32000 it seems more than generous or is it GSS that is being less than generous?

easyJet start on £36000 plus flight pay.....at the same airport on the same type.....

Just wondering, or were eJ terms worse once upon a time?

Not looking for a 73 job are you Tailscrape...
Whats happened to your trusty steed???...lol

And for what its worth there best be a reasonable sector pay check with that offer....

Has anyone been offered a job and start date yet?

The website still says they are planning to take bookings in May but there are still no bookings on offer.

I think bookings have been delayed slightly, probably not starting until mid June, with first flights around the middle of August.

I've been away for a few days, but waiting on the doormat on my return was a PFO from now dated 22 May - 3 days after my sim assessment. Amongst other things 'there were other candidates who more closely matched our rigourous criteria'.

I suppose that there must stillbe alot of 737 pilots out there looking for a job.

Question

What is sector pay, as apart from hourly or straight salary?

Dirty Harry

Have been watching the postings about Now with interest. Have you been given a contract or start date yet?

No contract, but a jolly nice letter. They give an impression of having a very pleasant culture.

Still a waiting game alas.
