Question Urgent: A320 / B737 rated

Hi,

Could anyone help me out on: getting type rated on A320 or B737?? Places to get it, cost and duration.

Cheers, MMM

Try Astraeus at London Gatwick. Three pilots they have trained have now started with EZY on the 737 with more to come, I'm sure.

They have an assessment procedure to check that you're good enough and the training you get is just the same as the airline training, so it's pretty good.

The cost is about UKL 16,500 including base training and their website is at:

www.flyastraeus.com

Good luck!

Capt Veeclean,

I beg to differ, but the standards at the two airlines you mentioned are quite different!
The Astraeus rating just about gets the job done; the boys coming through to easyJet admit to currently getting training well above the standard that they were given at Astraeus. We are training them at the moment and despite being type rated, there is a lot they did not get taught!

My licence is a JAR CPL ME with frozen ATPL, with approx. 512hrs TT. so it will be a copilot rating isn't it.
Already thanks for the info.

Cheers, MMM

I really don't want to get into a "Who's training is best" discussion, but I need to clarify a few things.

Since the middle of last year, Astraeus, through it's TRTO , has offered self sponsored 737 conversion courses to the industry. We are pround of the high standards we achieve on these courses, a fact that was fed back to us by the EZY recruitment team, when they assessed some of our past students. Unlike other course providers, we offer the benefit of an airline environment , and some of our students have gone on to do some LIne Trainig with us.

EasyJet has one of the best training departments in the business. I know because I recruited and trained a lot of them. Astraeus students who go on to full time employemsnt with easyJet will get superb line training to build on their 737 conversion course.

So, lets just make sure we are comparing Apples with Apples.
