Why BA now hires directly onto the B787? Is there a huge shortage on this fleet and are there any pro's that come with it? What destinations/trips usually are done on the B787?

Are they very strict with the 6-month cooldown period before you can re-apply? (Failed the Eagle test stage in May).
Also, I have both UK & EASA ATPL, and I am EU Citizen. Anyone from the EU has been given a Skilled Worker visa?
I think B787 does HND (Tokyo)

Because pay and lifestyle on short haul are both appalling and not enough people want to do it. On the contrary I believe the 787 is currently well crewed in anticipation of more aircraft arriving (many of which have been delayed). Not sure why they still need DEPs on the 787.

Going back to where it looks like DEPs started joining long haul fleets about a year ago, I count:
310 onto the 320 at Heathrow
60 onto the 777
24 onto the 350
13 onto the 787
1 onto the 380
A total of just over 400 courses.
Given the numbers involved, I am more inclined to believe it is down to training capacity.

No that is not quite correct.
They will consider your application IF you have an EASA license but you will have to convert it to a UK license BEFORE you start. This is something that you will have to take up with the UK CAA and the requirements are on CAA website. The term "convert" is a somewhat liberal term, as you have to write all 13 ATPL subjects, get an initial medical and do a skills test on a UK CAA approved simulator.
They are also not sponsoring residency for EASA holders - what they will do is sponsor a Skilled Work Visa(and associated residency) for jobs that have a salary of > aprox 72k GBP. That is currently only DEC positions at Euroflyer & CityFlyer. I am lead to believe that next years' salary increment at BA will allow F/O's to meet this requrement.

Hello Everyone.
I would appreciate if anyone holds new updated information about the interview process and a website which I can use to prepare for the assessment.
I have been invited for a video interview and was wondering if any one have recent information.
Applied for A320 FO - ATPL ICAO.

Talk to my friend Andrew at flightdeckwingman.com. He is a current 787pilot with BA. Yes, it’s a commercial company he runs, but he has a ridiculously high success rate, and is 100% on top of all aspects of the recruitment process, from CVs through to EAGLE testing. I recommended my godson to talk to Andrew and he is now flying for EasyJet.
Tell him I sent you and there may be a small discount to fees.

Paused Application process?
Hi there everyone, hope this message finds you all well. I applied for the self sponsored speed bird pathway with ato and I’m on the final stage (group exercise and interview) however I just received an email stating my application is paused as recruitment is assessing their timelines but that I should be sure that they still have my application and will resume when the recruiting for this starts again. Anyone else had this message ? Should I be worried ? Apologies to everyone if this doesn’t seem so serious, it’s just that I’ve applied and been taking this application so seriously since March. I’ve been dedicating months to this to finally recieve an email that my application is paused. I start my course with the ATO soon which is why I wanted to get the last assessment done quick.
Thank you everyone. Enjoy your day !

Thanks to all those who've contributed to this thread, it has been really helpful in my application and in deciding to apply to BA in the first place. To those asking about the capacity test, this is discussed in detail near the beginning of this thread. The online testing providers (e.g. Skytest) offering imitators of the test are good ways to prepare.

Lots of useful information on this thread, thanks to everyone. Spent lots of time reading through all the pages. Unbelievable how much duplication there is, but still. Sim at the end of October for myself now - anyone else got one coming up?
