But aren't the RUK aircraft G reg?
If so for the crew to fly non RUK aircraft they would have to hold and stay current on EASA & CAA licences.

It's a separate company, as is lauda, malta and buzz and Ryr. It is independent crew, G registered Aircraft and uk licences.

RUK do currently “wet lease” RYR aircraft on certain routes (U.K. -> Morocco). I understand that this is a temporary arrangement due to end at the end of the year when the Brexit transition finishes.
Plenty of rumours abound as to what will happen next year. I imagine a few of the new Maxes will be sprinkled around the U.K. on the RUK AOC and given G regs. Company issued a memo suggesting that crews apply for a U.K. licence but offered no assistance and no guidance as to why they’d like us to have both.
We technically have authorisation to switch between RYR and Malta with the press of a few buttons on our EFBs. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ryanair are asking the CAA very nicely for a similar authorisation.

Is it likely that RUK will start openly recruiting UK license holders in the run up to the end of the transition period? I spoke to a a RYR recruitment manager who said they will but never indicated what sort of quantity or when.

I can’t imagine the RUK fleet being massive. They are only needed to fly domestic routes (of which there aren’t any at the moment) and routes to non EASA countries. Anything between U.K. and EASA can be flown on the Irish register. I imagine with the exception of STN, those routes could be covered by 1 aircraft at most bases.
i believe the SOPs are almost identical. A few minor things as mandated by the relevant NAA but day to day I believe is the same. ‘OCC’ from RYR to Malta is a 15 minute e-learning course if I remember correctly. Can’t speak to Buzz or RUK.
