Im at EZY at the mo and am quite happy with the way things are....This isn't burying my head in the sand, just showing some appreciation that EZY took me on at a time when pilots were a dime a dozen due to cuts. I'll admit that I wouldnt have 'darkened EZY's doors' should the option have been there, but im more than happy to give 100% commitment now im in.

And as for the attacks on JL, ive never found her anything but up-front and honest, and I appreciate that in a person. If you cant find anything more seious to say than her spelling is c**p, then I think you should keep it buttoned! Ok lets hear it!

Flaps One,

If Easyjet are now in a position to pick and choose the best what exactly have they been doing up until now, doesn't say a lot for you and your colleagues already in.

I know you probably didn't mean that and joking apart I think you will find most professional pilots regard Easyjet as good as the next airline and probably better in certain areas, though I think one low cost is heading for a fall if judging the speed of a 737 at Dublin recently is anything to go by, could have sworn a certain German racing driver was at the controls.

You're exactly right - I didn't mean that!

I was just trying to point out that when market conditions change, as they have done over the last year or so, that all companies will move the goalposts.

WhaleOilBeefHooked

Fair point, I made my views clear so I'll shut up now!

As you say Flaps One, the goal posts will move to suit the supply of candidates. At least Easy have the decency to tell us about their policy before the fact.

I had an experience with BMI regional/Business Air which I have manked and moaned about on Pprune in the past. In short they told me I was short listed, and when I called to confirm the interview date I was told I was no longer on the shortlist becuse I had been interviewed 4 years before. And they confirmed that they wouldn't have told me that at the time, but, no they wouldn't interview then or ever in the future.

So, whilst I doubt easy are perfect, despite their high morals, and good intentions, and whilst I agree that this particular e-mail is patronising, and will do the company few favours, at least they have been up front about it. My only concern is that they will deny themselves the services of a few very good guys, but then if their system is so good, maybe they have some discretionary flexibility....

well as I was saying there I know guys in there who said ''no thanks'' to Easy in the past and are now right seat with them. It doesn't sound to me like they are very organised down in the Orange Hall so why not just omit to tell them that you've applied before?
They probably wouldn't notice.
I also know that very recently they were telling people who had failed selection to reapply in a year. That would seem to contradict what had been claimed in their e-mail. Last Autumn they were telling people to reapply in 6 months!
So to clarify- if you're not good enough...go back and see them. If you were good enough but couldn't take up the offer when they wanted you to...get lost. Now I'm well confused.
Good to know though that they're just as disorganised as all the rest of us!!
