Pilots union is requesting to all new pilots all documents that proved they payed the A320, about 30000€, which they consider illegal, as it never happens.
They act in the court

i think it’s ridiculous that an airline recruits someone and then asks that same person money to pay for the mandatory training to execute the very same job the person was recruited to do. Imoral, to say the least.
Unfortunately, neither the Union not the pilots are willing to fight to stop that big degradation on T&Cs.
Cheers,

TAP opened new admissions. Today published an internal concourse.
Requirements are :
500 hours the rating A320;
High School Completed;
Fluent in English written and Spoken;
Good Skills in informatics ;
ICAO English Level 5;
EASA MEDICAL CLASS 1;
FROZEN ATPL;
Other news:
Today 2 of A320 leased from AIGLE AZUR returned to the Leasing company, due to French court decisions about the closure of the company;
Tomorrow the 2 of the 4 A340 will phase-out. The last 2 will phase out at the October. In future only A330 for the long-haul.
Compay situation :
First half of 2019 with high losses;
Portuguese government is currently back to back with the administration of the company;After the storm that was the early disclosure of a € 119.7 million loss of TAP in the first half the worst half-yearly result since privatization, silence has set in. Both the airline and the government, which received the results with great irritation, choose not to comment. But the few messages that pass are that the accounts will improve significantly.
About the bad results of the first semester were internally responsible, taking into account in particular the drop in ticket revenues in Brazil. Blame Elton D'Souza, the head of revenue management, who left in July to take over the presidency of the European operation of Netjets. The idea that he is responsible for TAP's stumbling block circulated as early as Friday of last week as soon as the results were released. In fact, along with the increase in personnel costs, Brazil was mentioned as one of the two factors responsible for the poor performance: the decline in revenues in this country in the semester was € 43.1 million.
Elton D'Sousa, a Goan manager of Portuguese nationality, was, however, one of the two people to receive the highest performance award for 2018, ie € 110,000. Why is he now one of the big culprits in the first half of the year, when he was once considered exceptional? A question that remains unanswered. Certainly, this area, which is fundamental to business engineering, has had a lot of turnover within TAP: Elton D'Souza is the third party responsible for revenue management since privatization, and the company has not yet arranged for anyone to replace it, despite being in charge. demand in the international market. Contacted by Express, Elton D'Souza declined to comment. Who is now meeting with the revenue management team is Antonoaldo Neves, TAP's CEO. An overload, say company sources who underline the fact that the executive committee is already "short". There are three people, two of them with limited experience in the sector. The financial director Raffael Alves, in the aviation sector, has only as experience the financial direction of David Neeleman's Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras between 2012 and 2017. David Pedrosa has a professional background mainly linked to inland transport at Grupo Barraqueiro. The pressure is great. Government source told Eco following results that executives “should resign

At same time, PARPUBLICA, the company that manages all the Portuguese State companies, is concerned about this high losses. Lufthansa or United Airlines are possible investors.

Any opinion on the upcoming NTR F/O recruitment? I have heard first hand that it's extremely slow from recruiting to going on the line, is it still the case?
Receiving applications till November

I don't think that it's going to be slow to be released on line cause they had stopped to stop their delays in training... most of the guys recruited in January have been released on the line now...

I remember it was a lot of questions about TORA, ASDA, Clearway, Stopway and so on. Basic weather and ops questions. Prova Aeronáutica was easy. I did not go on to the psychological assessment because they gave me no choice of date and I was committed elsewhere.
Be on time and they won't let you park on the Tap campus. Better take Uber.

Hopefully working there is better (doubt it!) than being a passenger with them! Always, always late and not very professional. With the recent IAG purchase of Air Europa and their goal of making Madrid a major hub, TAP Portugal is going to face some real challenges in the future and if the issues at hand are not dealt with in a timely manner - downsizing is in the future cards - when Madrid further positions it self as the transit spot for South America and the Americas in general.

So on the first day (avaliação aeronáutica) is just about ATPL questions ? No maths , logic , physics , psychometric tests ?
*Hope everything went well for you

yes, if I remember correctly. Of course there may be some math, like Point of Safe Return etc..
After my scheduling conflict for the avaliacao psicologica, I emailed the recruitment team a couple of times without any respone. So thats that...

What’s going on at TAP...
Is it true that 30% - 40% of the candidates fail Line Training after finishing the Type Rating, and consequently get fired?
Who’s paying for the cost of training plus rating?
Does anyone have inside knowledge or is this all lies?

There are 2-3 difficult LTC (as in all airline I suppose) and you must have the correct behaviour and know the stuff... Many guys relaxed when they received the positive email after the assessment, but it is actually the start of the deepest effort to success... the Line Training is stressful but I repeat... if you have the correct behaviour.. it's peanuts.
