Eurowings EU Vienna

Does anyone know what's going on with this new outfit?
A friend passed the selection but has been put on hold.
It's not clear whether they're not genning more airplanes for 2016 or if they gonna crew next airplanes with pilots coming from LH (??)

Just curious, do you know when he applied to Eurowings and when he had the selection?

Thanks.

Somebody I know, did selection back in April/mid May as TRE/TRI. He said the contract is for 12/24 month for the trainers.

Everyone else will get permanent contract form the beginning but, conditions are terrible. As Cpt you are lucky to earn 4500/5000€ net. As trainer completely different story. You do need to speak German tough. He was supposed to start ASAP but not heard ever since.

Take care

Some former collegues and myself applied.

One told me that he went, but did not pass DLR(such a surprise, they look for a particular mindset I assume, just saying Germanwings ).

He told me as well that Vienna base is full aready, now recruiting for somewhere up north(I think he said Hamburg, not sure about that).

Pay is crap, as mentioned already before. Only plus would be(for me, as I am Austrian) with Vienna base to pay in Social Contribution and retirement, and having a base again in my home country.
5000€/month makes a decent living in Austria, but you have to go to live in the countryside, Vienna is to expensive especially if you have as well a family to feed(and need a bigger flat for them).

They offered me various interview slots(Captain, NTR), mainly in Hamburg which was an other no go for me, if I could have a quick drive to Vienna I would not have bothered.

Applied in the meantime to another LCC, at least the job with them is safe(expanding, lots of bases) which is not the case with Eurowings(just remember the LH Italia story which messed up for sure a couple of lifes).

All in all I would be very careful when dealing with anything around LH and their pilots/unions. Lot's of dirty things going on there against us normal pilots because the LH guys still think they are some kind of astronauts(which they are not, had enough of this guys in one of my former companies, some of them had very questionable standards - I will not specify otherwise it would be to easy to "track" me down ).

If you can - steer clear. If you need the job(and really no other low cost, except Norwegian which might be worse then Eurowings) then good luck(and keep your eyes open to have always an other job handy with that new 320 rating).

Hope I could shed some light on that new LH dreamcompany.
