The Emirates Non Pay Rise of 2015
Heads up for all of you still clutching yourselves at the chance of flying that shiny wide body.
Emirates yet again, despite having made massive profits have yet again failed to award their staff a pay rise again.
Instead we were given our contractual increment of 3% dressed up as a pay rise.
This does not even get close to the governments own inflation rate of about 5%, so come to EK fly 90hrs a month ++, and live in a country with spiralling costs and an effective year on year pay cut.
It is no wonder that the two other major middle east carriers have become the airlines of choice.
Review the threads in the Middle east forum accept that some of it is hysterics but a large amount is true.
You have been warned.

Emirates yet again, despite having made massive profits...
Perhaps they are bleeding cash like crazy in order to gain market share and crush any competition?

Tank2Engine, while not defending what the middle east carriers get up to, I would have to point out the Chapter 11 in the USA isn't exactly fair completion either.
A company is either solvent or it's not, if it's not then it cannot be kept in business. Several US carriers have gone into chapter 11 several times and re-emerged having shafted others to the tune of millions of dollars.
Having also had the misfortune to travel domestic in the US many times and a couple of long haul flights I have to say the level of service leaves a lot to be desired at times.
If the carriers improved the service I am sure the American public would fly with a home based carrier through choice.
