Unhappy Avcom ???

Does anybody know anything about company calling itself AVCOM? Is it airline or recruiting office or what. they are advertising in Flight Intl issue and looking for Bae146 crews to southern Europe. Only thing I do know is their email: [email protected]

I got confirmation too when I sent them my CV but do you know is this avcom the company to be established or are they just recruiting staff for new company?
They did not even tell is company cargo or pax.
Only thing I got out of them is that it's gonna be in Italy.

Guys...I appreciate to hear about new start-ups as well, but is it not fact, that we have received acknowledgements from most wannabee-startups as well?
Don't invest too much thoughts into any address which is operated from a Hotmail account...
If, whoever stays behind this ad, this is real, than why is this all so anonymous hidden behind one of the worst mail servers one can sign up to?
I keep my fingers crossed for everyone still running the job hunt on the daily basis....actually, I am also still looking.
One thing I am very sure of...it is NOT in Italy!

It didn't seem very trustfull for me neither, that is why I'm asking if anybody here know anything. Thanks for information. I contacted them again with no reply. So it seems very hotmail to me too
Anyway they told me in first contact that it is gonna be company to be established in Italy and they will need TREs and IREs to set training dept. I'm also very suspicious with this all top secret thing.

I hope this mysterious company has nothing to do with Millennium Airlines which dreams to operate a fleet of BAe146 out of Florence.

Had dealings with a company called Avcom in Russia a number of years ago. They purchased a pre owned BAe125.

info I was given:-
2 x 146's
$3500.00 all in per month for F/O (c £2333.00).
No accomadation provided just total amount paid wherever you like.
Northern Italy somewhere could not say where based even though first flight supposedly is Oct 27th.
Couldn't say when contract starts, where training done etc.
No address, just hotmail email. No web site! No land Line!
Avcom apparently is part of an American Company, Aviation Consortium.
Flying for Club Air, a F27 operator looking for 6 crews.

There is an Italian outfit which will have G-registered 146 as per the date mentioned already. No F/Os required, absolute minimum crew only, replacement for an existing wet-lease running out the day day before.
Base is Verona...
Crews already handpicked...only rated and current "high profiled" PICs as I am told...whatever that means.

Don't know anything about this particular contract but suspect Avcom to be a fairly common company name. Doubt that THIS Avcom ever had any involvement in Russia nor are a part of an american conglomerate......

The Avcom I know in Europe are a fairly small tight run agency providing a service to the industry. I agree the hotmail address really IS shoestring stuff and perhaps they should reconsider this BUT I can assure you they do provide a pretty good service and are at least worth talking with IF you get the chance.

Your choice, as ever, of course.......

Companies which do not provide any other contact information, even when asked to, do not give a very good picture of themselves. That is ofcourse only my own restricted opinion
and does not necessarely mean that they are big bad wolves
BTW commander, you have anything to do with them?

Hi Fadec,

not taken up employment at all but I know two of the directors and have a mate who did one season with them - (he also helped out with some of the administration for a time).

As I say, they should dump the hotmail address IMHO since this would appear from this post to be the only thing people have against them........

At the end of the day they provide some people with jobs - can't be a bad thing can it? Give 'em a go - what's to lose?

Thank's Wing Commander Fowler.
I got no hard feelings against Avcom nor I want to paint them in black. I just like to mind the holes in the road of my life. Life itself has made me to act carefully. Trusting somebody really takes more than "hotmail" but like you said, they solved that problem. Do you know are they going to publish any web pages in future?
