Well, as a RYR driver I can tell you that we have already more (in service plus orders) in service. Much more.
Some other guys mentioned it already, in Western Europe you are more and more forced "to play the game", means play it clean, pay correct taxes and social contributions. Wizz is still not doing that and hiding in the East(because there it might be still possible). I assume the Vienna base has a Austrian contract(or something similar), otherwise the tax man would be very mad(and a mad tax man makes mad pilots ).
So no, Wizz is not real competion for Easy and Ryan. Just 2 very different "playing fields". Ryan starts moving into the East(RYR Sun), Wizz has 2 western bases(3 if you call Budapest West as well as I do).
RYR has big plans for the future with an order for the MAX(or however they will call it after that disaster), I am sure Easy has similar plans.

As of today Wizz Air Group has 114 aircraft (10 at WUK) and will have 120 in a few weeks (vs. 476 at FR and 327 at Easy).
However the difference in seat capacity is a lot smaller (Wizz already operates ~40 321s with 230/239 seats vs. lower capacity 738/319s at FR/U2) which will decrease further as nearly all deliveries from now on will be Y239 A321neos (while even the MAX will be only Y197). IMHO Ryanair should already call Wizz competition with like 150 daily flights to/from the UK and a lot of common bases.

I am not saying Ryanair is better/worse. I am just looking at relative fleet increase (ie capacity) compared to existing ones. (Ryanair has 450 airframes and orders will bring that number to 585. So a 30% increase in total). Taking into account 75 of their order will be replacement, Wizz has a 200% fleet increase....where will these extra seats go?! They are operating in an already very constraint market (ie Easter Europe). The London base is just an UK AOC set up to operate under Brexit. Maybe I am wrong, but I don’t see Wizz doing the same thing in CDG, FRA, AMS... So if they stay within their niche in Central/Eastern Europe, this huge increase in capacity remains a mystery....

Does anyone have experience commuting with wizz air? Is there a specific roster pattern that allows this. Lets say you found a base with atleast one dct flight to home/day. Will wizz air indulge this or do you have to pretend you live where your based?
Thanks
Thanks

Does anybody have an interview with Wizz on the 15th-16th of August and if so are you interested in pairing up for a practice sim the day before in Budapest? I believe there is a sim company there that does ASSESSMENT TRAINING for prep work before an interview and is 149 euro per person for 2 30 min briefing sessions and 1 hour sim.
If you are keen please pm me.
Thanks

You can commute, company doesn’t care, half of the pilots do it. Very commuter friendly, roster permitting.

Application
They slowed down the recruitment and internal upgrades. They have plenty of applicants with low time experience. So far they tend to hire mostly Senior FO’s or DEC

Airbus is experiencing delays delivering new aircrafts the slow down might be related to that.
If they have plenty NTR applicants but with hours, why do they keep getting zero hour students from various cadet programmes? To me it looks like it's always a better (and faster) solution would be to employ somebody with 500ish hour experience on whatever aircraft rather than growing up a brand new employee from zero. Anyone willing to explain this phenomena?

I presume at the moment the main requirement for Wizz will be experienced pilots due to all the new deliveries. Anyone interviewed recently who has any idea on the type of pilots they took onboard?

Rapid command
Thank you for the reply. Are they actually hiring guys for this rapid command programme or is it just a carrot they are dangling and in fact everyone is getting offered SFO for 6 months first?
I imagine summer months are very busy? Any idea of typical hours? Is Belgrade an option for a base or is it a slim chance since it is a small and a new base? I seen it is the lowest paid basic salary of all the other bases but I have family there so would be interested. Anyone with any idea please feel free to reply or to send me a PM. It would be greatly appreciated.[/QUOTE
hello,
Do you have more informations about the rapid command that wizzair offer?
Do you start on the left seat?
Are really on the left once you re done with your LIFUS?
Can someone help me to understand what they really do?
Thanks

Rapid Command
First of all if u read the job advertise carefully u will see that u start from the left seat ! And of course You’ll be on the left once u are checked out. This is not a game it’s a serious program that offers left seat straight away but it’s long and demanding.U start TR from the left seat and u continue all along ... so there’s nothing to explain ... if u pass u continue as a fully qualified Captain and if not u might be offered right seat instead.Belgrade is not a option .... six Captains on the waiting list and eight FO’s.Plenty of flying during summer ....Belgrade base salary is just fine ... normal and similar to the other bases and no it’s not a new base it’s been there since 2010 so I don’t know where did u get that from.
